SEE IT: Pack of motorcyclists chase driver, his wife and child in SUV, attack him in upper Manhattan
NEW YORK DAILY NEWS ^ | 9/30/13 | Joe Kemp

The man’s Range Rover was surrounded by several bikers on the West Side Highway on Sunday. One biker apparently cut the driver off and slammed on the brakes just before the SUV bumped his rear tire. But when the driver stopped, several bikers began to damage his SUV. Cops are investigating.

A pack of bikers pummeled a driver in upper Manhattan on Sunday, after a wild chase that began with a fender bender on the West Side Highway, cops said.

The brawl erupted after the victim — who was driving his wife and their young child — became surrounded by a swarm of motorcycles on the highway and accidentally hit one of the bikes near W. 125th St. about 2 p.m., police said.

Stop trying to play the attorney role...You failed bad.

Bottom line here is something clearly happened out of field of view of the camera, which obviously pissed off the MC rider...No?

As MC rider slows nearly to a stop, he's rear-ended by suv guy...Because MC guy slowed or even stopped did not give suv guy the right to rear end him...At point of impact, the MC rider and suv were only traveling all of 15 or 20 mph or so...No? Then ya see suv guy flee the scene and while doing so, runs over several more bikes...

This is what happened, deal with it.

No one slammed on their brakes...If someone slows in front of you, you have zero, zip right to rear end them...

Deal with it.

If someone swerves in front of you and slams on their brakes, as here, you do.

We’re half way to becoming a 3rd world country, so it’s to be expected.

Bodyguard drivers in South America do an interesting “weave” pattern in traffic that makes it very unlikely bikes will get very close to their vehicles.

You can’t “out speed” rice rockets. But you can weave like a madman when surrounded by bikes and they WILL back off. A 5,000 pound SUV weaving at high speed is not something a bike wants to get close to.

“The motorcyclist pulled in front of the SUV and stopped, with nothing in front of him causing him to stop. He instigated the collision. YOU try that with me and they will bury you. Got it?”

Ditto here. And if you are one of 30 bikes pulling this shit—with no license plates—more than one will be buried. And if a 5,000# SUV won’t do the job, and there are still some of the 30 bikers attacking my family, 125 grain hollow points will do the rest.

I'll quit playing "Perry Mason" when you quit being a apologist for "weekend wannabe bikers"

Clearly you failed to win many adherents here on FR.

Bottom line here is something clearly happened out of field of view of the camera

On this point we can agree.

But what.

Like the Zapruder film, I have gone back over and over and clearly somethings up.

Noticed the bikers ahead of the SUV, "Mr. White" and "Mr. White w/ White helmut", as well as "Mr Bumped" and "Mr Camera man" and the fast overtaking "Mr. White w/ Red Sleeves" and possiblily "Mr Purple" on the far right are making quick glances at the SUV. Then lead bikes slow down, for no apparent reason but to the effect of boxing in the SUV.

"Mr Bumped" takes a long look at the driver as he drifts inside the SUV's lane then speeds up enough to overtake, then looks back again as he slows down.

Why? They don't look back at their fellow riders until they have safely passed the SUV and then they look at the vehicle with expectations.

There is several bike horns beeping as the bikes slow down. Is it just friendly warnings or something more insideous?

IMHO, they are anticipating some event and it clearly involves the SUV.

They want to slow the SUV for whatever reason and it isn't to trade postcards....

“Because we all know that Asians, particularly small Asian family men(with spotless criminal record, IMHO) with their wife and baby on board are notorious to be ill-tempered and ready to pick fights with packs of wannebe “bikers” who are studious, mild manner travelers of the road and polite to all they encounter.(rolls eyes)”

My thought exactly. I think after this, Mr. Mild Asian is going to get some training, and his next SUV will be driven very differently.

Seems like a good plan to me, I might be a little heavier on the 125 grain hollow points however, probably flip it in 4X4 mode also, helps get over minor bumps :)

I’ve seen some very interesting video of bodyguards trained to keep other cars away by using a high speed weaving technique. A big SUV or truck erratically covering two lanes makes it very unsafe for aggressors on two wheelers. They get the point pretty fast that it might not be healthy. In South America bikes are often used as robbery getaway vehicles and for assassinations in traffic. In some places, two men on a bike is illegal, because it’s so common that the guy riding behind is carrying a hidden sub-gun. It’s one of the most common assassination methods.

Packed up rice burners riding like this in traffic with covered or missing licenses are criminals. When overtaken by a pack of them, if they are going to play games, play games back. Use your weight: “the law of gross tonnage” comes into effect. Begin sudden rapid side to side weaves, starting small until you are covering two lanes, and they will not want to play anymore. And it’s very unlikely any will be tempted to do a brake check right in front of the weaving SUV.

A 3rd world country with a string of semi-autonomous city-states (Jackson, MS elected a radical black racist with about 89% of the vote)

Well, maybe they made it safe for you, but it sure wasn’t safe for other people, such as the girl they dragged into the club one night and raped until she was nearly dead. They also had regular vicious fights with another outlaw biker club (I don’t recall the name) and occasionally would beat up some passing stranger for apparently no reason.

I lived around there for awhile, and the Hells Angels made it safe the way the Mafia made their neighborhoods safe: if you played their game, didn’t get in the way of their drug trade (which was how the Hells Angels stayed in business) and didn’t see anything, they’d let you walk through their neighborhood. Maybe. Unless they were high and you were young and pretty.

Sorry, but an outlaw biker club is just that, regardless of their color.

Actually his only mistake was getting trapped in traffic and letting them drag him away from his SUV...his only weapon.

If this was anywhere but New York I advised him to take an NRA safety course and apply for Concealed Carry.

But alas it's not so he better bone up on martial arts skills and defense driving lessons...

sorry...I don't the racial relativism thing...I'm very post all that

I actually though think white one percenter MC clubs are exponentially more dangerous to those who come in their crosshairs than a black MC gang..what few there are

I doubt this Hudson Pkwy incident was an MC club but just brother thugs on two wheels

if it makes you feel better I have been corrected about recent HA bad deeds in that east Village neighborhood and admitted it...something I don't hesitate to do when wrong...which distinguishes me from many here

I don't think you were entirely wrong in your post. Just pointing out that these 'protectors' are really evil people.

My point here which was made multiple times, is just because someone changes into your lane and slows or even starts coming to a stop, does *not* give you the right to rear end them. This isn't complex.

It doesn't give you the right but it puts you in the 'right' legally and them in the wrong.

The MC rider performed several illegal maneuvers that put him in the wrong before the collision. This isn't complex.
