As a blogger, I subscribe to the email lists of some organizations whose goals I do not, shall we say, necessarily embrace. Among them is Organizing For Action, the successor to the 2012 Obama campaign. As you can imagine, although I read OFA's messages with interest, I don't succumb to its frequent appeals for funds.
You might think OFA might let me loaf along on its list, but no. Just now arrived an email I'd call kind of creepy. Start with the subject line [emphasis added throughout]: "Mark: Not an OFA donor". Whoah: so this is not just a generic pitch to all who haven't coughed up: they're calling me out by name! The body of the message informs me that "according to the records associated with this exact email address," I haven't donated. "Exact email address"? They've got me nailed dead to rights!

Every email I receive from conservative organizations address me as “Tom”.
It ain’t just the liberals doing this.

I went to their web site to ask if they could sign me up for their email, “Mark Finkelstein sent me” and such - but there’s nothing really current for the org without creating an account.
Gotta say though, it was worth going there and not signing up (which will put on boatloads of watch lists and denial of service lists and such, probably) just to see the amazingly silly nonsense that they think is going to appeal to someone. Really creepy cult-like kitsch.

Dems are thugs - it’s not much more complicated than that... I’m surprised the email didn’t say, “We know where you live” ... The threats will get larger with time... it’s who the shits are...
