2 alternate realities. 2 countries.

And the two will never reconcile, and cannot coexist indefinitely. I wonder if a final breakup is inevitable?

Can two nations occupy the same geographic area?

Can we each declare individually, which country we belong to, and then live side by side, with separate systems for everything?

I vote to be in the nation which does not allow those in power to use my money and labor to satisfy their urges to take pity on others—Mr. A feels sorry for Mr. B. so he steals from Mr. C to pay B. A feels like he is moral and helpful to B.

A feels superior to C, his slave.

Obviously if two sides cannot coexist indefinitely, a breakup IS inevitable!

All that is left is the “grudge-boinking”. LOL

I don't buy your premise, at least the part where you say and cannot coexist indefinitely. What exactly do you think has been going on since 1865? That seems like a pretty indefinite timeline to me.

In answer to your other question, a breakup is likely coming. Nothing is truly inevitable other than perhaps death, taxes, and the corruption of politicians. But unfortunately, secession is probably in the cards. And it will result in the death of lots and lots of Americans who are completely indifferent to it in any case.
