I was wondering what the word on the street is concerning Matt Bevin. He is running for US Senate in KY
------------------------------------
Poll: Should Mitch McConnell be replaced?
Fellow Conservatives:
We need your immediate feedback on the U.S. Senate race in Kentucky. The outcome of this election will impact the lives of all Americans.
Please read this memo and then vote in our membership poll below.
2014 U.S. SENATE | KENTUCKY<> U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-KY), the Senate Republican Leader, is running for re-election. Unfortunately, he has a liberal record and refuses to fight for conservative principles.
McConnell voted to fund Obamacare this year, worked against Ted Cruz (R-TX) and Mike Lee (R-UT) to let the Democrats fund Obamacare next year, and said parts of Obamacare are "okay"
McConnell worked with Vice President Biden to write the fiscal cliff tax deal that resulted in higher taxes for 80% of American families
McConnell voted for billions of dollars in wasteful earmark spending, including Alaska's "Bridge to Nowhere"
McConnell voted to bail out Wall Street banks and said it was one of the Senate's "finest moments"
McConnell voted to increase the national debt limit at least 9 times. Since he's been in Washington, the national debt has increased from about $1 trillion to more than $16 trillion dollars
McConnell voted against term limits and to raise his own pay McConnell did nothing to fight the amnesty bill that passed earlier this year and he voted to grant amnesty to illegal immigrants back in 1986, which helped create the problem we have today
POLL: Do you approve of Mitch McConnell's record?
MITCH McCONNELL IS UNPOPULAR
After 28 years in office, voters in Kentucky are not enthusiastic about re-electing Mitch McConnell.
McConnell already trails his Democratic opponent in recent polls and Cook Political Report rates Kentucky as a "Toss Up" despite the fact that it's a solid Republican state that even Mitt Romney won by 23 points.
If Republicans in the Bluegrass State nominate McConnell again, the Democrats could take this seat and make it harder for Republicans to win a majority. This is why Democrats hope McConnell is the Republican nominee.
So here's what we know:
Mitch McConnell has a liberal record, he has failed conservatives, and he could cost Republicans a critical U.S. Senate seat.
The question for conservatives is this: What are we going to do about it?
MEET MATT BEVIN
Matt Bevin grew up in a rural, working class family, where he and his five brothers and sisters worked to help the family make ends meet.
Bevin earned a ROTC scholarship and worked year-round to pay for his college education. After college, he entered the military full time, rising to the rank of Army captain.
After military service, Bevin founded and invested in many successful companies ranging from manufacturing to money management.
Bevin is 46 years old, and has been married for seventeen years. He and his wife Glenna have nine children, ages 3-14, four of whom are adopted.
Matt Bevin is a constitutional conservative who believes that Americas greatest traditions are seriously threatened today by irresponsible Washington politicians who are bankrupting our country.
Bevin not only supports all of our top conservative policy goals, he has demonstrated the courage to stand up to one the most powerful politicians in the country even in the face of personal attacks.
And if Bevin wins the nomination, he has a better chance of defeating the Democrat next November. Independent voters don't like McConnell and they're looking for new leadership.
POLL: Should Senate Conservatives Fund endorse Matt Bevin?
MEMBERSHIP POLL
If Kentucky Republicans nominate Matt Bevin, it will be a win-win. They will not only dramatically improve their representation in Washington, they will also prevent the Democrats from taking this critical Senate seat.
Bevin's nomination would also be a game-changer for all freedom-loving Americans. Nothing would do more to change Washington in 2014 than replacing Mitch McConnell -- the leader of the Republican establishment -- with Matt Bevin -- a principled, conservative fighter.
And what a change it would be. Matt Bevin is the most exciting candidate we have seen this year. He's principled, charismatic, and fearless. If he's elected, he will turn Washington up on its head.
So why are we asking for your feedback?
Because we can't win this race without YOU. If people like you aren't willing to take a stand, then Matt Bevin will lose.
Mitch McConnell already has a lot of money to spend on this race and he has the full support of the Washington establishment. He also smears his opponents and uses intimidation to silence his critics.
It will take a tidal wave of fearless grassroots activism to win the race.
We have won David vs. Goliath races like this before, but this one will test the resolve of the grassroots like none other.
Please tell us if you're willing to storm the castle.
If you're with us, we will stand up to McConnell and do everything we can to win this critical election.
Thank you for supporting the principles of freedom that make America.

Love to see this support coming from Senate Conservatives.
Now, if only a strong, conservative candidate will run against traitor Cornyn in Texas.
Thanks Jane Long!
;-) Good Matt Bevin info!
Thanks for the ping, but I am in TN
I kind of disagree that McConnell is a RINO, being that he is up for reelection. While my RINO Senator who is safe until 2018 voted also with the rats
I had no idea SConsevatives had this up. I filled it out. Thanks for posting. If SConservatives endorse Matt, then Mitch is toast.
I encourage every Freeper to go and take the survey.

Mark Levin likes him
McConnel is running negative radio spot against Blevin in N. Ky. Don’t know if this is slime or what. I hear it from time to time on talk radio, I think McConnel is scared,
That new “name” for McConnell makes me laugh every time I see it. As prim and proper as he appears, I’ll be he never expected to make anybody mad enough to call him that. LOL.
Retire-Dorothy!
thats how I feel about him....
In most of his photos he looks like a tree frog or a bush baby, can’t decide which
Well his his website is well done. He’s the only serious challenger to McConnell in the primary. I see no reason why he couldn’t beat Grimey Grimes in the general election.
So I back his efforts. That dumb little skunk Rand had already endorsed McConnell. That’s a big failure on his part.
I hope the Club for Growth gets behind him.
Club for Growth likely will. SCF has scorched McConnell in a resent posting as a ‘turncoat’. If they endorse Bevin, its over.
Go Bevin!
bfl - I need to send that to my MIL. I got the in-laws to vote for Rand. Unseating McConnell will be a tougher sell, but that should make it easier.
Long time no chat, upchuck! I would say that 90 - 95 % of my personal contacts here in Kentucky are backing Bevin. It’s good to see that people are all now aware of what I have been warning them about McConnell for years.
I think that Matt Bevin woudl be a good Senator. His electability is unknown to me, but Obama is highly unpopular there (as well as southern Indiana). Mitch McConnell may have overstayed his welcome. He is a shrewd tactician in the Senate.
I’m not really on anyone’s side in this primary.
McConnell is the most likely to lose a senate seat for us. He’s deeply unpopular, and is polling behind the challenger
Bevin is the safer bet, and he’d be better
