This wont surprise Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid or GOP old bull Sen. John McCain -- the largest chunk of the Republican Party is now very conservative.
According to a new PPP poll, which has Sen. Ted Cruz the top choice for the 2016 Republican nomination, those who describe themselves as very conservative make up 39 percent of the splintered party. Add in those who consider themselves somewhat conservative, and the right-leaning voters comprise 76 percent of the party.
In the new poll of 743 Republican primary voters, 1 percent called themselves very liberal, 4 percent somewhat liberal, and just 18 percent as moderate.
Among the conservative voters, Cruz is the leading choice for the GOP nomination. He won 34 percent of that group. But he also shows remarkable crossover as 32 percent of the very liberal crowd also prefer him.

It’s easy to actually like a leader who can actually LEAD and tell the TRUTH.
Beating Crispy Christy in the polls? This will make Coulter furious.
TED CRUZ:
a lot of libertarian leaning Republican and Independents who don’t want to be identified with the RHINO party or the Christian conservatives.
What’s wrong with Christian conservatives???
Not anymore. Ann abandoned Crispy a while ago over immigration. Bob
I did not know that. Any articles or such that I can read?

This is info the "news" media will never let out. We must do it ourselves. Spread the word.
I'm not convinced, though (yet), that the purists who call themselves Repubs and/or conservatives, who would never vote for anyone who is not an exact clone of themselves, will go for Cruz. They'll find one thing about him they don't like and will sit out the next election, just like the last, and then Clinton will be the next Prez.
You're not alone. We've been starving for a long time.
But now we know...
He would have my vote!!
He won’t get mine.
That is the truth. Right after voting for cloture, which enabled Reid to fund Obamacare, they are all out proclaiming they voted against Obamacare. They lie pretending to be conservatives to get into office. They lie about what they do to stay in office. They know if they were ever forced to tell the truth, they would be out of office in a heart beat.
The Linda Grahams, John Cornyns, Mitch McConnells, Johnny Isaksons, Thad Cochrans and Lamar Alexanders of the GOPe should be placed on notice — their time is up.
If people of most persuasions (except the lunatic Left) listen to Ted Cruz they will like him. He has common-sense positions that are spoken in plain English by an unpretentious man. He’s a no-brainer nominee for 2016 who will dispel the notion that conservative beliefs are “extreme”.
I am not "now" conservative any more than I'm "now" more male than I was last decade.
And unlike dumbo, I'll bet you any amount of money that Cruz' life is an open book, with no sealed or hidden records.
Americans are generally Christian and don’t like non-stop lies out of their .gov. Cruz is interested ONLY in the truth, and he loves America... people are starting to grok that poshitus HATES it.
Cruz, running on ROLLBACK, will kill Thighness. Just make it clear he plans to UN-DO everything that has been done to America, and watch the landslide.
I think I know where you're coming from, but I believe with all my heart that Ted Cruz would pass the Framers' test with flying colors.
He's exactly the sort of patriot they had in mind for the office of President when they wrote Clause 5.
I don't see any obstacle in his way.
He won't make the mistake of playing prevent defense. He proved that a couple of days ago.
And neither Krispy or Jeb can stop him.
All that's left is an all-out media attack. But that won't sway conservatives. And Cruz is smart enough to use it for his benefit.
No. Nothing can stop him now.
It's time for the Collaborators to just get out of his way.
I won’t go there on FR anymore. Do what you want, but words have meanings.
