No, hes not praying that Barack Obama will overturn Obamacare and no, hes not praying that he will occupy the presidency one day. Instead, hes alongside Rev. Rob Schenck (from Faith and Action) and Rev. Frazier White (a Democrat and Obama supporter) praying for Saeed Abedini, who has been in an Iranian prison for one year. He is being persecuted for his faith to Jesus Christ.
Who says Ted Cruz isnt bipartisan?
I have not only interviewed Ted Cruz many times, but I have spent time with him and his family. He is true Bible-believing Christian who is not ashamed of the Gospel. Of course the liberals dont want to hear that nonsense. Theyll now be busy trying to figure out how to distort this picture in Adobe Photoshop.
Below are the words of Rev. Rob Schenck, the man who organized the prayer.
In the image you see me at the center with my prayer stole as we intercede in Jesus name for our brother in Christ and imprisoned pastor, Saeed Abedini, who has suffered in an Iranian prison for one year because of his faithful witness to Christ. Kneeling with me on my left (the significance of the placement should be noted) is the U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, a tea party Republican from Texas. Sen. Cruz just made wall-to-wall headlines for his 20+ hour filibuster opposing Obamacare, the Presidents signature legislative achievement.
On my right (again, note the orientation) is Rev. Frazier White, a Democrat community organizer from my neighborhood of Capitol Hill, and a huge supporter of President Obama. At the moment the photo was taken, though, the politically polar opposite positions of the Senator and the Pastor were irrelevant.
We were bowed before the Holy, the Supernal, the highest Lord in the universe, and the One and Only Eternal King. Everything else: party labels, policy positions, job descriptions, accents, zip codes, skin color, filibusters and organizing, were all utterly and completely dwarfed. In that moment of prayerespecially for a fellow Christian, a persecuted believer, whose circumstances are for most us unimaginableour political and cultural squabbles seemed petty.
Pastor White, Sen. Cruz, Rev. Pat Mahoney, Jordan and Anna Sekulow, myself, and so many others, were there in front of the White House to do the really and truly important business of crying out to God for one of our own that was suffering for his faith.
They’ll run Jeb Bush, and 16 conservatives.
I don’t think we do. And what about the election? How do we get past Democrat control of the vote count from the electronic voting machines?
You can't imagine the cr*# Cruz got thrown at him by the "good old boys" in TX when running for the Senate. When despicable ads were run on TV, radio and the lies were unbelievable, he stood his ground and respectfully let them have it back. Cruz is like one of our Forefathers IMO and blessed by our Creator.
Wow...how can this man who is obviously so talented,,be so humble at the same time? I continue to be impressed by Ted Cruz..just wow
This is one of my greatest concerns. Who counts the votes and how they count them.
I know many people who do NOT believe that what goes in is what comes out. They say, "Why vote?"
And there is no way to prove them wrong. All I can say is "trust"....and I prefer that word be used about God, and not some voting scheme with a voting machine.
Who is on the left of Cruz? Is that Rubio?
Makes me cry too,,and I don’t understand it!
RE: Who is on the left of Cruz? Is that Rubio?
I don’t think so, otherwise they’d mention his name too.
wheres BARACK HUSSIEN OBAMA? OFF SOMEWHERE PRACTING his Muslim Faith.....?
“wheres BARACK HUSSIEN OBAMA? OFF SOMEWHERE PRACTING his Muslim Faith.....?”
Why yes,,,placing phone calls to Iran
Rafael Edward Cruz is his name. Ted his nickname.
Rafael - God has healed
Edward - Blessed Guard
Cruz - The Cross
Ted is a nickname of Edward, but also is a short for Theodore.
It means: Gift of God
you know, it’s incredible.
It’s incredible that any US Senator would join this prayer effort.
It’s even more so, that it is Cruz, who has had...sort of an exhausting week!
Where does this man get his energy? (Of course...I think we know that!).
But humbling himself, and kneeling with these pastors, will also keep him humble!
This is really an amazing story!
Thanks xzins, you made my day.
I’m glad he did it and it needs to be done, but part of me thinks it would be a lot more effective without the garden kneeling pads...
LOL
It sort of looks like Rubio’s haircut. Wonder about the whole photo.
Too bad Obama didn’t ask Roo-meany to free this man.
Looks like son of Jay Sekulow (can’t recall son’s name)of ACLJ, American Center for Law and Justice. Jay Sekulow and the ACLJ does wonderful work.
God ‘might’ be blessing this country again.
As do I.
