Sherie Luffman has been without health insurance for the past seven years.
I had to cancel it because I couldnt afford $750 a month in insurance premiums, and Im more than two years away from qualifying for Medicare, said Luffman, first vice chairwoman of the Whitfield County Democratic Party.
Im really looking forward to the Affordable Care Act taking effect. Ill be able to buy insurance on the health care exchange. Ill qualify for federal assistance to help pay my premiums. Ill be able to go to the doctor when I get sick instead of waiting to see if I get better or die, she said.
Luffman was one of about 40 people gathered in front of the Whitfield County Courthouse Wednesday evening to support the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, and to oppose a bill authored by U.S. Rep. Tom Graves, R-Ranger, that would defund and delay the bill for one year. Graves district includes Whitfield and Murray counties.

Wow just wow. 40 people wanting signs demanding free stuff warrants a news article.
Sherie
That $10,000 deductible is going to bite you
So Ms Luffman you are @ 60 years old and did not do anything in those 60 years to be prepared for this time of your life and now you want ME through my tax dollars to take care of you?
KMA.............
Hey, give them credit. Its bigger than a Sandra Fluke rally.
They are all counting on that free Obamacare.....which ain’t happening.
Francisco d'Anconia: "check your premises." Is she certain she'll be able to find a doctor nearby that will treat her?
Wait until she sees whats in the trick or treat bag she will be recieving. Dumb A##es believe anything
And the Million Muslim March on 9/11
Why aren’t people questioning how much these “subsides” are going to cost the tax payers? These costs are going to be enormous. This woman talks like the money to subsidize her premiums is spare change everyone has to give her.
I frankly suspect this is just another one of the endless sob stories the Dems. trot out to justify their theft of our money.
Exactly. If implemented insurance costs today will seem like a bargin.
Religious faith in government is far crazier than religious faith in God.
The other freeloaders must have been home on the sofa eating chips. Why should we pay for this woman’s health insurance? No one helped my parents pay, and no one has ever paid for my family’s insurance.
So, the Dems can't pay a "living wage" and provide decent insurance?!?! ... sounds like war on women to me
She’s actually 62-ish now and she’s a retired computer programmer. So she had no insurance for the last 7 years but she retired early anyway? What a dumbazz. But she’s an Obamabot and OFA fan, so her stupidity is obvious.
Dalton’s been overrun with Mexicans for some time now.
Don’t know about Dalton, but here in Dallas there is a Doc-in-a-box on virtually every corner. You can get in and see a doctor for usually under $100 assuming no other major tests, services are rendered.
I’ve used them when I was without health insurance and they were more than adequate.
There is presently no shortage of doctors. However, there seems to be a shortage of people willing to pay for their own health care or insurance.
wisdom!
Still a mill town?
Not as much as it was.
Just the cost of the ACA rollout is costing hundreds of millions of dollars, not to mention all the free publicity the MSM is chipping in. My local newspaper has become the mouthpiece of the ACA rollout, almost as if it’s a government agency. I would not be surprised if they are working hand-in-glove with Democratic politicians.
