Jeb Bush can deride and mock opponents of shoddy, costly, intrusive, and unconstitutional Common Core standards all he wants. The grass-roots movement against Fed Ed cant be stopped. In Bushs own Florida, GOP Gov. Rick Scott issued an executive order yesterday withdrawing the state from the Common Core testing consortium known as PARCC.
Word is out that Gov. Rick Scott wants to pull Florida out of the PARCC testing consortium affiliated with the Common Core State Standards.
Tampa Bay Times bureau chief Steve Bousquet is reporting on Twitter that Scott wants to sever ties with PARCC, for which Florida has served as the fiscal agent since it began. That would end the federal intrusion in education policy, Scott wrote in his order. Federal government has no constitutional authority to unilaterally set academic standards for Florida.
He joins legislative leaders who also pressed for a Florida plan for testing earlier in the summer. Read his executive order and letters to Gary Chartrand and Arne Duncan here.
As Ive reported over the past year, Bush and PARCC are joined at the hip. This is a major milestone.
What say you, Jeb?"
Screw Common Core and Jeb Bush. Screw all RINOs
It is true.
I love it. Take that JEB! We pulled our kids out of Connecticut’s public school system. They are now studying US History instead of...wait for it....wait for it... the middle east?
Enough of the Bushes in national life. Just give it up, Jeb. You sound like your liberal mother.
And I hope that Charlie Crist (now democrat, former republican governor and senate candidate endorsed by John Cornyn) doesn’t get elected governor again to but Common Core back into place.
All the schemes of these people are insidious!
Well done Gov. Scott! However, be advised that this does not rescind the implementation of CC in FL YET.

The Liberal Agenda, ya think?
Crist works for Morgan and Morgan ambulance chasers and they had a fund raiser for Obama here before the election. They are definitely going to have some big money behind them but so will Rick Scott.
I emailed the FlGOP...told them what they could do with lil jebbie
BWAHHAAHAA!!
Guess what, Leftists? Our side can govern by executive order, too.
The difference is, we use them to maintain freedoms. YOU use them to remove them.
Too bad you didn’t preserve the formatting in the original article. Lots of interesting links.
I had the honor of receiving a telephone call from Mr. Clavell back in the 1980’s when I was active in politics and tried to expose the brainwashing going on in our public schools. I also recommend: A Nation At Risk, a national report that I had the honor of helping with when Reagan was in office and Terrell Bell was Secretary of Education.
From “A Nation At Risk”
“...All, regardless of race or class or economic status, are entitled to a fair chance and to the tools for developing their individual powers of mind and spirit to the utmost. This promise means that all children by virtue of their own efforts, competently guided, can hope to attain the mature and inform ed judgement needed to secure gainful employment, and to manage their own lives, hereby serving not only their own interests but also the progress of society itself.
Our Nation is at risk. Our once unchallenged preeminence in commerce, industry, science, and technological innovation is being overtaken by competitors throughout the world. This report is concerned with only one of the many causes and dimensions of the problem, but it is the one that undergirds American prosperity, security, and civility. We report to the American people that while we can take justifiable pride in what our schools and colleges have historically accomplished and contributed to the United States and the well-being of its people, the educational foundations of our society are presently being eroded by a rising tide of mediocrity that threatens our very future as a Nation and a people. What was unimaginable a generation ago has begun to occur—others are matching and surpassing our educational attainments. If an unfriendly foreign power had attempted to impose on America the mediocre educational performance that exists today, we might well have viewed it as an act of war. As it stands, we have allowed this to happen to ourselves. We have even squandered the gains in student achievement made in the wake of the Sputnik challenge. Moreover, we have dismantled essential support systems which helped make those gains possible. We have, in effect, been committing an act of unthinking,
unilateral educational disarmament...”
Scott order: Back off Common Core student testing system
Common Core is only one part of the liberal agenda he foisted.
Look up "Sawgrass Rebellion," where he robbed homesteaders, landowners and farmers of thousands of acres of private property - at the behest of his buddies in real estate, sugar agri-corps and the enviro-goon movement. The green commies loved pig-face.
Those who didn't cooperate were flooded out of their homes, bullied or had their property values destroyed by the entire mess.
I wish I was exaggerating, but I'm not. In fact I'm understating the disaster.
Stay out da' Bushes. No more, the nation won't survive a 3rd Bush.
