President Obama on Sunday eulogized the 12 victims of the Navy Yard shooting and lamented what he called a creeping resignation in America about the inevitability of gun violence.
The question is not, he said, whether as Americans we care in moments of tragedy. Clearly we care. Our hearts are broken again. The question is do we care enough?
It ought to be a shock to all of us, as a nation and a people, he said. It ought to obsess us. It ought to lead to some sort of transformation.

I care enough to have a Select Committee on Benghazi.
"We" didn't shoot them.
“”We” didn’t shoot them.”
But if everyone had a gun, the shooter would have been dead within a minute and lives would have been saved.
But that is not the PC answer.
The A-hole. Do we care enough not to give secret clearances and entry keys to people with bad service records and a history of foul play with guns??
FUBO
Religious faith in government is far crazier than religious faith in God.
The DC shooting was a tragedy for the families, but nothing compared to the 500 or so killed every year in Chicago. Our community organizer president is just following Alinsky.
FUBO!!!!!!!!!!
Obama is pure evil scum.
>> creeping resignation
More like creeping remorse.
I want to know who ordered and why the rapid response team to go away at the start of the slaughtering!
How does one honor victims of a madman by proposing to violate the very Constitution most of the victims had sworn an oath to protect and defend against all enemies, foreign and domestic?
The first question is why is a military facility unarmed? That still boggles my mind. That guy should have been taken out immediately.
Why don’t you ask your Muslim brethren the same in wake of all the Christians being killed.
Real Americans know 0 is behind many of these shootings to push his anti-gun agenda and the idiot zombies don’t have the IQ or discernment to see it. He’s manipulating his minions and they’re too stupid to realize it.
Q: In 2008, you stated you wanted to keep AK-47s out of the hands of criminals.
(My astericks)
OBAMA: “We’re a nation that believes in the Second Amendment, and I believe in the Second Amendment. We’ve got a long tradition of *hunting and sportsmen* and people who want to make sure they can protect themselves. My belief is that we have to *enforce the laws we’ve already got*, make sure that we’re keeping guns out of the hands of criminals, those who are mentally ill. We’ve done a much better job in terms of background checks, but we’ve got more to do when it comes to enforcement. But weapons that were designed for soldiers in war theaters don’t belong on our streets. Part of it is seeing if we can get an *assault weapons ban* reintroduced. But part of it is also looking at other sources of the violence. Because frankly, in my home town of *Chicago*, there’s an awful lot of violence and they’re not using AK-47s. They’re using cheap hand guns.”
But you don’t mind giving such weapons to civilians—as long as they aren’t the Americans paying for them!
Resign!
The guy has carte blanche from go along to get along Republicans.
Is it any wonder he goes anti-Constitutional at every turn? I mean he’s a fellow traveler with more Republicans than I want to admit.
Evidently not: there is no move to go back to providing in-patient facilities for schizophrenics as a matter of course, nor to abolish the fiction of “gun free zones” which really constitute self-defense-free zones. Instead the chattering classes and state functionaries are, as always, calling for law-abiding sane citizens to be disarmed — no change there at all, they always do that.
