A parent in Towson, Md., was arrested Thursday night at a public forum after vocally expressing his concerns about the Baltimore County School District’s plan to use Common Core standards in its curriculum.
Robert Small, a concerned father, was forcefully removed from the meeting by a police officer after he interrupted Baltimore County Schools Superintendent Dallas Dance during the question-and-answer portion of the forum.
The meeting apparently didn’t allow parents to stand up and ask questions or comment. Parents and other attendants were instead asked to write their questions on a piece of paper and officials would read them.
However, Small began speaking out against the district’s use of Common Core, prompting a security guard, who was also a police officer, to approach him and order him to leave. “Let’s go!” he said sternly. Maryland Parent Manhandled, Arrested While Speaking Out Against Common Core at Public Forum

When Small didn’t immediately comply, the officer began pulling his arm and pushing him towards the exit. Some audience members gasped at the cop’s use of force.
“Don’t stand for this,” the father said as he was dragged out. “You are sitting here like cattle! Is this America?”
In answer to the father's question, No, this is not still America!
Private schools are using Common Core, too, from what I can tell, if they are in a state that has adopted Common Core.
We lasted two weeks in public school this year. I didn’t expect to homeschool this year, but here we are. We had no other choice because things were really THAT bad this year, and we live in an “excellent” school district.
Notice too, Common core is more a tool for democrats & unions while those outside the core are arrested & need to be re-educated.
I don’t doubt it. Nevada continually produces the likes of Harry Reid.
I’m just saying - and this is STILL true - there are a lot of places you could move if moving is an option, where what happened to this man would not have happened.
As well as, he would be joined by others like him in raising public objections to the curriculum.
I would advise him to leave MD if he can. It is one of the worst places.
But carefully choose where he moves...
I probably would have hired the best attorney around and pressed charges for battery.
Battery could mean:
“unconsented physical contact with another person, even where the contact is not violent but merely menacing or offensive.”
These people are menacing and are overstepping their bounds with their boot firmly planted on our 1st amendment rights. That is precisely why the group of Patriot Bikers in D.C which recently gathered made Americans so proud.
Our school uses A Beka, for Math ACSI texts and for Science the Purposeful Design series.
This is no different from the medicare money that several republican states have recently turned down.
I want to preface this with the following:
This is in no way directed at you or personal, but I wanted to post my opinion.
To simply give up our public schools as lambs before the slaughter may be one of the worst but consistent messages I’ve seen posted lately and unfortunately it’s a statement that is probably accurate as of right now... Certainly it’s the easiest, just create another private school and all will be well... However we all will lose if we let it continue.
The truth is we live in a society, this society will collapse if we don’t have productive members from all walks of life, this includes our neighbors, our countrymen, those democrats.... (Am I allowed to say men anymore).
If the school systems continue on this track it’s a SHTF scenario for sure, it’s just a matter of time. Think about it, our own countrymen indoctrinated into the line of crap will simply out-number us. Our message continues to be diluted, and we die out; we are fighting against extinction, and I’m not being overly dramatic here. Schools need to get back to reinforcing common law thoughts, and biblical morals, we are a Christian nation running away from this battle, and apathetic to the truth. We don’t need robots from our schools we need real productive men, and women.
Tyranny can’t stay In the light, it retreats to easier fodder, tyranny must be fought and rooted at the core, there is no middle ground here folks, there is no “write this off” we either win, or evil wins. What is required is bringing it to light, and uncovering the nature of the illusion,
Lately I’ve found myself literally thinking to myself... Wow I’m agreeing with Putin, a damn Russian! But he is upholding Christian values and Morals and isn’t afraid of a true culture war by proclaiming his support, and condemnation of Evil. It’s pretty unreal. Many of you are older than I, can you believe this?
So... What do we have to do?
Join the board get active in school PTA, get loud damn it, make your voice heard, lose some battles, ruffle some feathers, and become known for being THAT guy! Make them squirm when you are at council meetings. Don’t give an inch! Get involved, make it personal!
Something my neighbors and I are starting is a community after-school teaching program where Every Wednesday a volunteer parent puts a 90 minute session in place, to teach more direct skill based lessons. (I plan on teaching electrical concepts and computers) but it can be even simpler start a story book reading, but do something! It matters not your age or even abilities we all have something to teach and wisdom to share.
All we can do is push this rock up the hill, and remember what we are fighting for, never show them your Back!

I know nothing about law, but it seems logical to me that a private security guard who happens to be a policeman, too, shouldn’t be protected under laws governing policemen while he is being paid as a private security guard.
That would take some energy, though.

The USA came into being because people were willing to die for it.
The men who founded this country risked much more. People who now claim to honor them, won't give up their creature comforts, never mind pledge lives, fortunes, and sacred honor.

The school where my sister-in-law teaches is a private school in the Towson area, and they will not adopt Common Core.
Sidwell Friends (where Obama’s daughters go) will not adopt Common Core, either.

Get in touch with the White victim and tell him to institute a battery charge against the cop. I’m sure we can start as fund to help defray his costs to take this matter national.
