Eleven people, including a 3-year-old child, were injured late Thursday when someone opened fire on people in a park located in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood.
Chicago Fire Department officials said the child was in critical condition. Two other victims were also in critical condition, officials said.
Officer Amina Greer said the shooting occurred shortly after 10 p.m. Thursday. According to Greer, at least 10 ambulances responded to the scene, transporting victims to several area hospitals.
A witness, Julian Harris, told the Chicago Sun-Times that dreadlocked men fired at him from a gray sedan before turning toward Cornell Square Park and firing at people in the area. He said his 3-year-old nephew was wounded in the cheek.

This wasn’t a mass shooting, at least my according to the article. People were just “injured” not gunned down. And for all know from the article, the shooters were white dudes with dreads.
and that was just Thursday night.....most of the fun takes place on Friday nights....

I guess they rolled out about 1000 LEO complete with SWAT and RECON Squads, closed the neighborhood down for 4 days, searched every corner of every house in the neighborhood, locked the residents in their homes for the entire period cancelled Community and City events etc etc.
That Mr. pResident, did NOT happen, mainly because it is not a rare event. Maybe the 3 year old BUT, like others stated what are all these people hanging in the park at all hours of the night, plus on a Thursday -
Not like it may be the middle of July and in the middle of a heat wave with no air conditioning in the homes...

Totally agree with you. Both groups will not change their ways or beliefs...so you do what you have to do in dealing with them.
You’re so right. The men and women in blue deal with the human trash heaps of Chicago every day..God bless them and keep them safe. I listen to Chicago Police Calls nightly and I am well informed on what they have to deal with.
