Big time. Totally. Game over.
Look no further than the reaction on Wall Street this week to the latest gun rampage, at the Navy Yard in Washington, D.C.
Once upon a time, news of a killing spree would have sent the stocks of major gun manufacturers into a tailspin, as investors fretted that an outraged public would at last demand new gun-control laws.
As recently as last December, in the wake of the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School, in Connecticut, shares in gun makers Sturm, Ruger & Co. and Smith & Wesson Holding Co. both crashed.
But this week?
The stocks barely wobbled. By the following morning they were actually higher than they had been before the killings. By Tuesday night Sturm, Ruger had hit a new, all-time high.

Here endeth the lesson.
Exactly!
However, stock in the DNC has dropped dramatically.
No more cockpit-takeover hijackings.
GOSH I WONDER WHY.
After a few days, the stock fell, but no greater than the rises and falls previous in the year.
I’m hearing that Ruger is selling every gun that they can make, depending on the availability of materials. And they have NOT raised their prices.
Hey, the guy was writing a story, and he can’t let the truth get in the way.
Stock market declares game over on gun control
For now.
I believe the only safe prediction is the feral government will continue to do everything imaginable and much that's not imaginable to continue to infringe the right of the people to keep and bear arms.
BINGO - and a huge part of that is that between the courts and psycho-bable idiots, we have suddenly decided to drug folks up and let them go on the streets instead of holding them accountable for their actions when they commit crimes. And we can no longer protect society by locking away the violent nuts in asylums, because that would be against their rights.
So they walk among us, and kill folks. But its ok - it isn’t their fault... they are “mentally ill”.
I’m sick of the crap. If you have a dog that “snaps” and becomes violent - trying to hurt/kill you or your children, what do you do? Do you get it psychoanalyzed, drugged up, and hope for the best? Or do you put it down?
And please - don’t anybody say I am in favor of euthanizing all mentally ill people. But don’t we owe it to society and our children to do SOMETHING with the violent criminals among us, regardless of their mental “condition”?
The nut job at the Navy Shipyard - had KNOWN serious psychological issues, had a record of violent outbursts, including using guns in those outbursts - yet he held clearances to go pretty much anywhere on that installation he wanted, all with “Secret” - level clearance. Are there no background checks done for contractors? Or might that be somehow against someone’s “civil rights”?
Funny, when something happens like Sandy Hook or the Navy Yard happens, Feinstein, Obama, et al, come after you and me. When there are 25o dead in Chicago in less tan a year...
Crickets.
It hasn’t ended until WE defeat all Anti-Gun Democrats, (independents), and the few Republicans that exist for all public positions from DOG CATCHER on up!!
It’s like a natural thing, tornado’s love trailer parks, mass killers love gun free zones.
That is the weirdest phenomenon I have ever witnessed. In Florida, it happens every year...multiple times.
Actually, no matter where I have lived (tornado prone CONUS), it is a given.

The are car wreaks everyday. Horrific car wreaks. Auto stocks do not go down that day. The general public is tired of the political/media games that have been played the past few years. They are tired of a tool beong blamed and evil people being excused.
My “Game Over” indicator is Yahoo. One of my email accounts is there and when the Newton tragedy happened their login web page was littered by articles about gun control.
The day of the Washington shooting there were perhaps two widely separated articles. This morning, nothing.
Interesting. I’ll have to pay closer attention to that next time.
I have been helping them with their numbers. :-D
