FORT WORTH, Texas Aaron Alexis was so unhappy with his life in America where he was beset by money woes and felt slighted as a veteran that he was "ready to move out of the country" last year, a friend said Tuesday.
"He was tired of dealing with the government," said Kristi Suthamtewkal, whose husband owns the Thai Bowl Restaurant in Fort Worth, where Alexis worked in exchange for room and board.
But instead of leaving the U.S., the former Navy reservist relocated from Texas to Virginia, where an IT company called The Experts put him on a government contract at the Washington Navy Yard.
A day after Alexis, 34, gunned down 12 people at the yard, new details emerged of his troubled past from his preoccupation with 9/11 to recent mental problems that included hearing voices in his head.
Investigators said Tuesday that a preliminary probe has turned up no evidence that Alexis participated in rescue operations at Ground Zero, as his father once told police.

Jack Hydrazine wrote: The Japanese are way more racist!
This is true. The Japanese like blacks when they act white, not ghetto. Unlike liberals in the USA, the Japanese dont succumb to the bigotry of low expectations. If you dont behave, they dont like you, no matter what skin color or religion or sexual orientation.
I must admit, anyone who would shoot a defenseless human being is more than mental. They are the epitome of evil. I am a vet, but not one who has medical issues, I don’t receive any monthly checks or anything. I go to the VA health clinic because I feel more comfortable around vets. After 25 years in healthcare, I know what I am getting there and I know what private healthcare is like as well.
This guy hated white people because he felt owed. One must depersonalize a human by categorically finding fault or another reason to hate before they can kill. Certain mental disorders may be exempt from this, but ordinary folks are not. He found a group to blame for his lot in life, then hunted them down. I don’t know if it were just because they were white, or because he associated them with the government.
“Fiction by Matthew Bracken, author of the Enemies Foreign And Domestic trilogy and the upcoming Castigo Cay.”
Not Tom Clancy.
But it is clear that he has seen some weird people. Most college professors have. But I doubt that is what he did for a living in real life.
I seldom read fiction, life is interesting enough without it.
What if you act Scandinavian ghetto? LOL!
The news keeps calling him a Texan, but:
“Alexis had been working for the fleet logistics support squadron No. 46, in Fort Worth, Texas. The Navy says his home of record was New York City.
“Alexis grew up in Brooklyn with his mother, Sarah, and father, Anthony Alexis, according to his aunt Helen Weeks,” the Post reported.”
You get the same.
Why haven’t we seen photos of the victims? Those are usually out there first thing. Were they all white? How did he achieve 12 kills with 15 shells with a shotgun? By playing Call of Duty all day long?
Another 12 for Trayvon.
Pray for America to Wake Up
IMHO....This was either a “Terrorist” crime, or, “Hate” Crime!!! I do not believe for one second...we, the people are being given the “straight” story. Obama lies, his government lies, his military lies!!!
That wouldn’t make them “racist” at all -
it would make them “less tolerant of antisocial behavior”.
In this country, that “less tolerance” IS called “racist”.
At least one victim was black from the photos of the deceased that Fox showed yesterday. So it’s hard to say if he was just after whitey. Then again with a scatter gun the black guy could have been collateral damage.
The whole situation makes perfect sense. “Not happy with America”...go 1/2 way across country to blow away a dozen or so strangers. Makes sense...no? Something fishy here.
He probably wanted Rwanda where he could slaughter people easier
Never mind that Kristi is the white woman who took him into her home after he shot through his neighbor’s apartment.
Why didn't he tell me, I would have gladly paid for his ticket.
And we're supposed to feel sorry for him because "He was tired of dealing with the government."
Guess what? I'm tired of dealing with the government, too. I don't go shooting up a bunch of innocent people. I don't even take a job as a government contractor where dealing with it is inevitable.
“He was tired of dealing with the government,”
Yet he kept working for them...
Exactly correct. Which is exactly why actor Will Smith is wildly popular. And why crybaby Kevin Mitchell didn't last a year in Japanese baseball.
The race card just doesn't work in Japan.
I’m confused now... wasn’t he working there?
