More blood, more tears, more knee-jerk rhetoric about finding a solution for a bunch of different problems.
Those who knew Aaron Alexis -- the shooter who killed 12 and injured eight more at the Washington Navy Yard this week -- said he was a quiet, shy man.

“but he was honorably discharged”
I believe this has been repeatedly disproved. His discharge was “General”, which is less than Honorable. Likely due to the ceiling shooting incident.
I think we can safely ignore this ignorant Son Of Barack'S.
Can this guy buy a Verb at Costco?
I am so sick of the use of the word “bunch”. Obama’s favorite word and now in vogue with every lame stream hack.
What a bunch on morons.
There’s an intermediate one called “General (Under Honorable Conditions)” IIRC.
Guns aren’t the problem. People are the problem.
Indeed, “gun control” contributes to the problem, because it makes ordinary citizens essentially helpless, thus encouraging kooks with any intent to shoot.
How many mass shootings happen at an NRA convention?
Of course gun control isn’t the solution for us. But the politicians view it differently: gun control probably IS the solution for them. After all, politicians prefer unarmed peasants.
As for the overall issue, the gun control problem is largely self-inflicted. We as gun owners have a real bad tendency to hide our light under a bushel basket. That is to say that most gun owners dont carry and those that do tend to carry concealed. Which might be OK from a tactical perspective, but in the long run just undercuts our position. Very few gun owners Open Carry the Tools of Liberty. And its not helping us one little bit.
Ask yourself: would the kind of senseless butchery weve seen in CT and DC and CO and other places have occurred if even 10% of the population Open Carried?
No, it probably would not.
And we also have to ask whether we would even be hearing the tired bleatings of the gun grabbers if 10% of the population Open Carried?
No, we probably would not.
So while we complain about the gun grabbers and fight them politically, it continues to be something of a rearguard effort. We could largely eliminate violent crime and get marginalize the gun grabbers in one fell swoop if just say one out of 4 or one out of 5 gunowners would just openly and proudly carry the Tools of Liberty as they went about their day to day business.
“CNN Gun control is not the answer”
Has Hell frozen over?
These mass shootings are extremely rare
and the only reason these morons do it is because of the massive media attention they get. the media is causing most mass shootings and the media know this and egg it on so that they can take away our guns.
The media has said that if you are angry thats what you should do and then you will become world famous and known forever. these idiots are just copy cats doing what they see on the media and the media knows this.
and since we pay attention to this crap then we are media puppets too.
we pay attention to mass shootings, trayvon, syria and other distractions when we should be focused on stopping the immigration Amnesty bill , the IRS scandal etc.
Really, if this is what qualifies as "journalism" at CNN, they need to fire the entire staff and send out for Chinese, which would be good for lunch, but I already ate, and tonight there's a game on that probably won't include the shooter, the NRA or any other random subject thrown together in a run-on sentence that my high school English teacher would have destroyed.
"Gun shops are illegal in Chicago."
(New Paragraph)
"A sentence does not a paragraph make." - High School English Teacher
This is implicit in the name, "outlaw." Outlaws don't give a flying crap about the law.
The rest of us are just stupid dupes.
“Gun control is not the answer.”
That depends on the question.
If the question is “How can the self-appointed elites start the process to controlling the lives of everyone else?”, gun control is certainly the answer.
Does anyone know whether the contractor was under “affirmative action” [i.e., racial quota] pressure to hire blacks?
Aside from his abhorrent English, the author is trying to move the debate beyond banning guns. He does so as a leftist, so it’s annoying. But at least he’s not trying to obviously subvert the Bill Of Rights.
Do we call that an improvement?
I am informed by the always accurate Gondring that the Navy has updated its description of the shooter’s discharge to say that it was “honorable.”
