It has been called the most popular rifle in America, and it's back in the spotlight after Monday's shooting at the Navy Yard: The AR-15.
Authorities said when Aaron Alexis unleashed a barrage of bullets Monday, he was carrying a rifle and a handgun. But he did most of the shooting with the weapon used in so many other rampages that shocked the nation:
List of 4 other shootings.

With Monday's incident, the gun will likely be in the crosshairs again. And again, it's likely nothing will change.

So, time to disarm the military?
I use Winchester SPX1 or Hornady JHP 230 grn as well.
* Credit for phrase goes to 'Sonny', a bit character in ST-TNG 115, "The Neutral Zone".
This whole thing, too soon after the Colorado victories, and too soon are we being “informed” about the supposed shooter, that it stinks like 3 day old fish!
A guy, in the Navy Yard, blasting off an AR15?? Really??
By the way that same supposed Navy yard has been portrayed for years on the TV show “NCIS”, there WASN’T a camera SOMEWHERE that wasn’t being watched? Really??
“The shooter has a security clearance.” They have signs stating that your bags you carry WILL be searched upon entry. Yet, SOMEHOW, this shooter secreted a 30 inch long rifle, made of metals that trip detectors, into the complex?? Really??
Mr. Obama, this is another one of your ‘hail mohammed’ football passes.
FLAG DOWN ON THE PLAY AT THE 10 YD. LINE, NO FIRST DOWN, 8 YARDS TO GO!
bump
You’re in Arizona?
One guy with any kind of personal weapon immobilizing 3000 American military personnel for eight hours make Audie Murphy and Alvin York sound like Richard Simmons and Pee Wee Herman. l make no claim to being a tactical genius but it passes my poor understanding how our military prevails in any situation. If we trust the Navy with aircraft carriers, the Air Force with B-1 bombers, the Army with tanks and the Marines with, well with Marines, we should be able to trust at least some of these folks with side arms.
Maybe I’m just ranting.
Is that true?
Yes. In a little town called Atlanta, Georgia.
He snuck in a shotgun.... well, more precisely, blasted his way in with a shotgun. He shot a security guard at a checkpoint, took the pistol, then shot a DC cop who responded, taking his AR-15 or M4.
And prices were just coming down.
My thoughts, too.
He went there carrying only Jokin’ Joe Biden’s weapon of choice.
Way to go, Joe!
Conspiracy theory..
“The gubmint is behind these shootings and needed ANOTHER crisis to keep the heat off odumbo’s antics. Never let a good crisis go to waste.”
That should get things started again.
They’re gutting and hollowing-out the Military now, so disarming is just a formality for the UN to do under that Small Arms Treaty, which 0bummer’ll sign.
Diane Feinstein and the gun grabbing media are going waaaaaaay out on a very high limb with a big crack. Are they actually arguing that police and MPs shouldn't be issued semi-automatic pistols and automatic rifles?
Wanted to add something.
This article barely mentions the Navy Yard shooting. It was clearly prewritten and put on the shelf for use in the next mass-shooting that involved an AR-15.
Someone at CNN really screwed up by letting it loose in a shooting where the gunman started with a shotgun and the AR-15 involved was a serviceweapon picked up off a cop killed ... with the shotgun.
There’s a LOT we don’t know and probably will never know, about this.
That’s what I thought....LOL
I’m going to start traveling around Feb/Mar.
I’ll ping you and we can go to a nice restaurant down by the big chicken.
ALL US Military should be armed, at all times. Ft Hood showed us that. Look for more of these to happen.
