Matthews: Remember when US had a real leader, like … George W. Bush?
Hot Air ^ | September 12, 2013 | Ed Morrissey

Looks like Chris Matthews isn’t going to get a tingle over Barack Obama’s latest pivot. On last night’s Hardball, Matthews ripped Obama for a lack of leadership and focus, complaining that the President jumps from issue to issue with no particular purpose or plan. Matthews even went so far as to suggest that he misses George W. Bush … a little, anyway (via Jen Rubin on Twitter):

Mathews is an idiot.

As for Bush II, he was merely a version of Obama light - a guy who got us involved in extended adventures overseas trying to civilize savages, who spent money like a drunken sailor, who threatened to veto an English as an Official Language Bill, who promised to sign an assault rifle ban, who referred to Islam as a “peaceful religion” in the smoke of 3,000 innocent incinerated American civilians, who ignored a mass violation of our borders by an army of illegals, who pandered to the “president” of Mexico, who set in motion the Homeland Security Department which Obama is so adroitly utlizing, who supported the unconstitutional “Patriot” Act, who failed to do anything about Freddy Mac/Ginny Mae, who gave us an unproved idiot as SCOTUS Supreme Court Judge, who appointed a pro-choice, anti-gun AG - Alberto Gonzales, I could go on and on about Bush II and what an idiot he was. And NO, I DON’T miss him OR his Daddy who stuck a knife in the back of the Reagan Revolution.

What we have had in the last four Presidents is an INCREASING level of statism, globalistic and radical environmental proskynesis, violation of constitutional rights, foreign policy idiocy and economic puerilism unmatched in American History.

Each idiot was worse than the one who preceded him, culminating in the monster ensconced in the White House today.

HA_HA, he should miss Bush.
Many of GWBush’s (ex staff) people have come out publicly for gay marriage, gay military, immigration amnesty and supporting Obama in Syria.

Libs are really missing him now.

I have to agree. Most days I feel like I wake up in an alternate reality. When I sober up, I need to tell myself to lay off of whatever it is I’m taking.

Reagan pretty much set the bar by which future presidents would be judged, didn’t he...

Nobody’s gotten close so far...

I have always maintained that the fact that Bush won in 2000, and that he, not Gore was president on 9/11, is absolute proof of the existence of God. The mere thought of Gore being in charge on 9/11 is terrifying.

Did anybody read Putin's op-ed in today's NYTimes?! Putin is eating Obama’s lunch.

He pantsed Obama, took his lunch money and is enjoying the feast while Obama is running to the principal with tears in his eyes. WTG there world leading community organizer.

I did watch MSNBC after the President’s speech. I amazingly agreed with Matthews’ views of this Administrations’ handling of Syria. A broken clock and all that.
How soon will he fall in line and tout the meme that the ‘threat of a military strike resulted in diplomacy’? That’ll expose the myrmidons.

He sure did. In my not-so-humble opinion, the perfect US president would be one part Calvin Coolidge and one part Ronald Reagan.

Leopards can’t change their spots. Matthews did not say that.

"Matthews ripped Obama for a lack of leadership and focus...."

Obviously, the only reason he's saying this is because Obama's black. I hate racists like Matthews.

I remember a time when a President, a Prime Minister, and a Pope took on an Evil Empire... and won.

Those were heady days indeed...

Others will follow Putin’s lead and pile on. Obama will be the object of increasing scorn and criticism.

Ironic that it took a foreign leader to expose Obama for the blundering and confused empty suit that he is.

I was watching a history channel show called Gatekeepers. The WH Chief of staff has to be the hardest job in the world. Andy Card, Dick Cheney, Don Rumsfeld, even Rahm Emmanuel all the way back through the Clinton admin and Johnson. Quite a story they have to tell.

It's remarkable. And they did it without a shot being fired. We were truly blessed to have the right President, the right Prime Minister, and the right Pope all at the same time.

The effort required all three. Just two out of the three wouldn't have been enough.

The sad part is that US history books will probably minimize their incredible accomplishments. I just hope that the freed peoples of Eastern Europe will keep the memory alive.

Yeah, you’re right - Ronald Reagan was a REAL leader. But compared to Obama - so was Bush... and the lady who runs the bake sales at your kid’s school...and ... and the kid who has three friends follow him home from school...
