Obama’s Next Foreign-Policy Team : John Kerry may be on the way out for this.

It was the most predictable speech of Barack Obama’s presidency. He spent 15 minutes pretending that he was master and commander driving Syria policy. The truth is the Oval Office has been dragged into the middle of war it desperately wanted to avoid.

But events have landed the president in a bad place. It is clear he doesn’t have the confidence of the Congress. He probably couldn’t even get a resolution through the Senate, a chamber controlled by his own party. Asking Congress to postpone the vote was a transparent, face-saving measure.

If failing to command Congress wasn’t bad enough, the president also knows he got played by the Russians, who will spin their unworkable “diplomatic” solution into an opportunity to amp up their military support for the Assad regime.

Spin aside, Mr. Obama knows he had a bad night — and he knows whom to blame.

The president’s second-term foreign policy team is very different from those in place during his first four years in the Oval Office. John Kerry, in particular, has muscularly poked his nose in places the president would have rather left alone. Kerry was the chief cheerleader for humanitarian intervention in Syria.

When Britain bailed and Obama sent his envoys to the Hill to make the case for military intervention, Kerry and crew arguably made things worse. After days of briefing Congress, the administration found it had less support than when it started.

Kerry also wound up being the source of the Kremlin’s biggest foreign-policy coup since Napoleon gave up on taking Moscow.

When all is said and done, it is hard to not see Kerry as Obama’s Al Haig.

I sent a message thanking my two US senators for not voting for an inept SOS Kerry. Clearly they were aware of who he is.

The Dork and Gigolo have managed to exceed all expectations of massive and unmatched stupidity.

They should be proud.

Putin for president.

Whoa, when I started reading, I thought, "Did Reggie Love pen this?"

With the amateurs running our foreign policy, I'm not convinced that Baraq Hussein 0bama even realizes yet that, as a result of JF'ing Kerry's offhand gaffe, Vlad Putin has him by the short and curlies.

” The truth is the Oval Office has been dragged into the middle of war it desperately wanted to avoid.”

Actually, Barry beat a drum to go to war.
He wants to go to war so badly he can taste it.

It was Prime-Time Dumbassery, and nothing more

Usually Obama is full of empty, stupid, happy-talk.

This was mindless drivel of how he decided this and that as things happened around him that he had no control over.

A tale told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing.

[A line from William Shakespeare’s Macbeth, from Act 5, Scene 5: Macbeth’s plans are falling apart around him]

I’m no fan of John Kerry, but I can’t help thinking that, despite outward appearances, he’s seething inside every time he has to go out and defend Obama’s determination to wage war with Syria. I’m sure he took the Secretary of State job because he saw it as a launching pad for another run at the White House. He knows that this debacle has destroyed any hope he may have had for 2016.

It’s instructive, ironic, and hilarious that the one thing Obama is attempting to brag about here is that the threat of military action precipitated Assad’s cave. Not “dialogue”, not appeasement, but the threat of power.

For liberals, this must really smart, as it inadvertently validates conservatism’s central foreign policy tenet-peace through power.

***The truth is the Oval Office has been dragged into the middle of war it desperately wanted to avoid.***

This Carafano character is living in a fantasy-world, or she's doing a terrible job of spinning the facts. obama wants war so bad he can taste it. Yes, to wag the dog, but more to prop up the Brotherhood further.

Make no mistake - ValJar and Co. are in the smoke filled backroom planning how they can make this happen.

Human Abedin.
She’s currently out of play due to Weiner blowing it big time.
Her handlers “need” her to be somewhere useful to them.
Wouldn’t surprise me at all if she was named for the position.

Kerry on his way out?

I doubt that.

Kerry’s gaffe was the only thing that saved face for Obama.

Obama didn’t have the votes in either chamber, and he couldn’t go it alone since he already deferred to Congress.

Nor did he have any real proof, other than some unsourced videos of atrocities.

[Most of us know those in the ME are famous for staging and photoshopping videos and photos, because they know how gullible the West media is.]

Even the greatest speechmaker of all time [according to his fawning media] couldn’t pull off that speech filled with empty rhetoric.

Weiner is looking for a new job. At least we saw he knows the one finger salute so he can give that to the American people as needed.
