this changes jack sh1t for criminals.

all this does is make laws that by reglation turn law abiding citizens who want the same weapons that police use, and that criminals will continue to use, into criminals. it makes law abiding citizens lives’ that much more tougher for them to defend in a timely manner,’with useful weapons.

effing traitor tyrants.

I made the mistake of Registering the AK-47 I used to own when they passed the Assault Weapon Ban way back when in CA.

I actually sold it to an out of State Buyer just to get my name off the list. I later bought a CA legal AR-15 that requires a “Bullet Button” to remove the puny 10 Round Magazine.

The Rifle was CA Legal if you needed a “tool” to remove the Magazines so a GENIUS invented the Bullet Button.

The Liberals were not amused, hence the new attack on our Constitutional Rights.

The idea that a Politician can make any one of us an Overnight Felon is contrary to our God Given Rights. I will not comply with this madness and I hope my fellow CA Citizens refuse to as well.

Compliance with Tyranny is Treason, and Tyranny it is.

From the article linked in the post;

"How many more innocent men, women and children have to be slaughtered while going about their daily lives before we do something?" asked Assemblyman Reginald B. Jones-Sawyer, Sr., a Democrat from Los Angeles, speaking in favor of the ban.

He ticked off a gruesome list of recent gun massacres: Sandy Hook, killings at a Sikh Temple in Wisconsin, the Colorado movie theater killings and others.

Every time that ‘assault weapons’ become a political football in California, it seems like waves of California’s hidden magazine-fed semi auto military style rifles come out of the woodwork and end up for sale in Nevada and Arizona gun stores when the panicked owners cross state lines to get rid of their contraband firearms that they refused to register under CA’s ‘Dangerous Weapons Control Act’. It never fails. They’ve been hiding them for years, too terrified to take them out and shoot them, and ultimately decide to get rid of them... Just like the liberals intended.

Sad thing is that the owners think they can at least make a profit by selling a vintage ‘pre-ban’ AK clone for current market value of about five times what they might have paid for it new back in the ‘80s or ‘90s during the times of the Federal 922 bans, Clinton 1994 ban, or the two CA bans. “Gosh, look at how much they sell for on Gunbroker! Mines way nicer than that one is so its gotta be worth more!”, they presume.

Nuh uh. Nope. They find out to their dismay that they’ll get 50% of the original retail price as shown in the ‘Blue Book Of Gun Values’ — usually a fraction of what they expected — and that’s being generous. Take it or leave it or travel back into California with your instant-felon contraband, mister. Gotta sell to an FFL or that’s a federal felony. Maybe if its a hugely collectible ‘assault rifle’ like a vintage SIG-550 or something they’ll get significantly more, but otherwise, bupkis. Only thing they can possibly do is see if a gun store manager will sell it on consignment for them on Gunbroker, but that’s usually somewhere between a thin chance and a fat chance.

Did California do this or not? The article says “it WOULD....” all over the place. A law is a law and “DOES” in my book.

CA wants to ban scariness, plain and simple.

It's not about guns in CA. It's about Emotional manipulation to get Votes.

If it were about guns, they would be banning handguns, but becuase the big guns look so scary, they scare the population into voting Progressive/Liberal.

It's the same old Schtick on a number of levels.

If all of you Conservatives would just pack up and leave California... in less than five years... those left behind would kill and eat one another and you could go back and start over. Just do it!

They claim; “People who already own such weapons would be required to register them.”

Article 1 - The Legislative Branch
Section 10 - Powers Prohibited of States

No State shall enter into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation; grant Letters of Marque and Reprisal; coin Money; emit Bills of Credit; make any Thing but gold and silver Coin a Tender in Payment of Debts; pass any Bill of Attainder, ex post facto law, or Law impairing the Obligation of Contracts, or grant any Title of Nobility.

More succinctly; No State shall ... pass any ... ex post facto Law
