Sacramento, CA (OperationRescue.org) - In California, a bill known as AB154 sits on the desk of Gov. Jerry Brown awaiting his signature. This bill would dramatically expand surgical abortions in California by allowing nurse practitioners (NPs), certified nurse midwives (CNMs), and physician assistants (PAs) to conduct surgical “aspiration” or suction abortions of the kind generally used in the first trimester of pregnancy. Assemblywoman Toni Adkins, former administrator of the now defunct Womancare abortion clinic in San Diego, California. She is known as a radical supporter of abortion and homosexual rights.
The legislation was introduced by Assemblywomen Toni Adkins, the former administrator of a failed abortion business in San Diego. Adkins has long attempted to dangerously expand abortion services, once opening an abortion clinic in a predominately Hispanic neighborhood (using an abortionist that would later lose his medical license after killing a woman during a botched 20-week abortion) that soon closed due to financial mismanagement and lack of business. Apparently not one to learn from failure, Adkins is now expanding abortion in an ever-decreasing market, through the use of non-physicians.

NP's (nurse practitioners) and PA's (physician assistants) do some of the work of doctors.
However, surgery is not one of them.
Allowing people who are not MD's perform surgery is a mistake.
Abortionists who are MD's often kill/maim women/girls in the process of performing abortions. Allowing the less qualified into this process is a serious lapse of judgement - in my opinion.
they arent too worried they will be killing more adult women either, apparently.

Non-doctor-assisted abortions were the reason for so many bleed-outs and deaths in the so-called “back-alley” abortions performed in those halcyon days before Roe v. Wade became the “law of the land”. The legalization crowd was very quick to put up those graphic photographs when they were trying to ram this through the legal system.
We have come full circle, except now the non-doctor abortionists may expect exoneration if they have a “failure”.
worst case is they will just lose their licenses to do abortions, and these places will just get others to do them, until they too, have an accident.

in one way we have to count this as a huge victory for the prolife side.
the left has been almost 100% unsuccessful at getting reputable doctors to be involved in abortion. across the board, across the country. most are super old geezers who’ve been doing it forever. and are old, retired, dying. worn out. have no ideas who’ll replace them.
it’s a major, major success story they haven’t been able to convert hardly any real, reputable, skilled doctors to become abortionists. Most realize abortion is not medicine and certainly “it does harm” which is why most won’t even consider doing it.

Abortion normally has a 50% fatality rate (a few babies survive and a few mothers die, but it’s pretty close to 50%). Why would it be more dangerous to have NPs, PAs, or random predators doing the procedure?
