CNSNews.com) -- Secretary of State John Kerry got into a heated exchange with Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) while appearing before the House Foreign Affairs Committee Wednesday urging members to approve President Obamas request to use military force in Syria.
After Kerry made the administrations case for military action in response to the use of chemical weapons by Syrian President Bashar Assads regime, Duncan responded: I cant discuss the possibility of U.S. involvement in Syrias civil war without also talking about Benghazi. The administration has a serious credibility issue with the American people due to the unanswered questions surrounding the terrorist attack in Benghazi almost a year ago. When you factor in the IRS targeting of conservative groups, the AP and James Rosen issues, Fast and Furious and NSA spying programs, the bottom line is that there is a need for accountability and trust-building from the administration, Duncan said.
Section four of your testimony today says this is about accountability. Sure it is. The American people deserve answers about Benghazi before we move forward with military involvement in Syria's civil war. Holding up a photo of Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, who was killed in the Benghazi attack along with U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and two other Americans, Duncan added, The same administration that was singlely so quick to involve the U.S. in Syria now was reluctant to use the same resources at its disposal to attempt a rescue of four brave Americans that fought for their lives in Benghazi.
Duncan also asked the secretary of state if there had been "any transfers of weapons from Libya to Syria."
A clearly irritated Kerry responded: We talking about people being killed by gas and you want to go talk about Benghazi and Fast and Furious. This is not about getting into Syrias civil war. Kerry responded. This is about enforcing the principle that people shouldnt be allowed to gas their citizens with impunity. And if we dont vote to do this, Assad will interpret from you that hes free to go and do this any day he wants to. Thats what this is about, not getting involved in Syrias civil war. So lets draw the proper distinction here, congressman.
We dont deserve to drag this into another Benghazi discussion when the real issue here is whether or not Congress is going to stand up for international norms with respect to dictators that have only been broken twice until Assad: Hitler and Saddam Hussein. -
So Duncan says, “Because you haven’t told us the truth about A, B, and C, we tend to not believe you about D.”
Kerry replies, “This isn’t about A, B, and C. This is only about D.”
So, Kerry didn’t understand at all why we don’t believe him about D.
Maybe it’s related to why his face is all blowed up.
If you clandestinely can please show us the files. They need to be disseminated to the world!
AMEN!
there is no reason whatsoever to enforce a “norm”
a law, a treaty is different
a “norm” is not
what next
enforcing on Russia the “norm” that sodomy is cool?
no thanks John Liar Kerry
I have zero doubts the Zippo adm. is being blackmailed by the muslim brotherhood.
I believe if they don’t do the MB’s bidding the MB will release info on how it was Hillary and Zippo that orchestrated the attack in Benghazi.
They already are, and here on FR as well.

The copies of all the files are available at the paperless archives, but the Kerry stuff is not free - I think you have to pay 5 or 10 bucks for the CD. Military, FBI and CIA.
Bears Repeating:

Few truly understand the “Obama Administration’s” place in history.
By every test of History, Obama is a National Socialist, a fascist. And what we are witnessing is the Obama fascist regime attempting to centralize its war power and to circumvent Congress, and to reduce the war power of Congress for the future.
Obama fascism? This is a seriously good read:

They don’t need any blackmail. They ARE the Muslim Brotherhood.
They have to call it a “norm” because Syria was not a party to the chemical weapons treaty. Or so I’ve heard.
well then al queerda hasn’t done anything wrong then
He pretty much hit a nerve that validates the thought that Benghazi was an illegal gun-running shop to assist al-queda.
I believe the rebels released the gas and I believe another attack is imminent since the first try did not work. What saying is that while the administration is trying to pin the attack on the Syrian government, they cannot claim they broke international law, since Syria is not party to the treaty. They are using “norm” and betting that lo-fos will not notice the difference like we do.
Me too.
At the Clemson game yesterday where Graham was given some sort of plaque honoring his support of the University. He was there to accept it and when they said his name he was booed. Hes in trouble in the upstate for sure.
People are slowly waking up.
Kerry’s argument applies much more clearly to Benghazi, where the lack of ANY response to the murder of U.S. citizens including an ambassador on U.S. Soil, a full year after it happened, clearly tells our enemies that they are free to kill our citizens anywhere they want.
And frankly, that is a lot more serious than a country killing it’s own people. The people in that country can rise up against their oppressors. Our first duty is to protect our own citizens, and this administration fails that test time and again.
So John Lurch Kerry - who by the way served in Vietnam - got his widdle feelings hurt. Oh boy, what an idiot.
Ketchup Kid is no match for Jeff Duncan!
Kerry is a contemptible smart ass who continues to talk about his disgraceful service in Vietnam. To hell with his purple hearts.
