We’re trying to figure out how to pay for our kids’ college education. Dave Ramsey talks about staying out of debt by paying for college through military service. My kids know better than to even consider it because they’ve seen what even little old me has been subjected to by this regime.
But I’ve got nephews who are in, and at least one of them automatically writes off any claims of corruption within the government or military as “crazy conspiracy talk”. Those who dutifully spewed the “birthers are crazy” line have set this country up for this. They’ve solidified the “mainstream” position that facts don’t matter, and corruption is impossible within our system. IOW, they have made it so that any whistleblowers will be written off automatically. Really, really dangerous - and the crap we’re seeing now is a result of Obama and his henchmen seeing how far that kool-aid can go.
It goes far. My extended family is all Christian and all politically conservative. But they are busy living their lives, haven’t checked up on facts, and rely on Fox, at most, for accurate reporting. They’ve swallowed the kool-aid when it comes to the “you must be crazy if you think there is a conspiracy to destroy this country”. Their eyes glaze over if you mention any facts. Satan is the Father of Lies, and he has learned that if you couch the lie in “politics” you can get otherwise-discerning people to believe anything. Truth matters. When we ever accept otherwise, we leave ourselves wide open, and Satan and his minons go for the jugular.
Why do you want your kids to go to college?
I tell these kids that IF THEY JUST HAVE to go into the military, DO IT FOR THREE YEARS ONLY. To go into the military and learn a job skill they can sell on the outside. I.E. an 18 year old kid cannot become a cop till 21. So, go into the military for three years, be an MP, get the cop training that they can sell to a police force looking for officers. Three solid years in the military as an MP gives them three years of skill, carrying a weapon. They cannot from 18-21 as a civilian but can as an MP. So, I tell them learn ONLY a job you can sell on the outside. Not 3 years in the infantry, etc. You cannot sell that at age 21 or 22 to an employer. A mechanic, medical, MP, etc. type of jobs. ONLY do the three and RUN for civilian life. NO CAREER. We have been SCREWED into the ground by the government taking away what we were suppose to have when we retired. If I had to do it over again, I would have done the 3 and run. I wish someone had been around back then to tell me. But, then again, it was a different world 45 years or so ago.
