The Southern Baptist Convention, which provides the largest share of active-duty military chaplains, has barred members from taking part in weddings, counseling sessions and couples retreats for same-sex couples.
The North American Mission Board, an arm of the Nashville, Tenn.-based SBC, also prohibits chaplains from participating in any services that would appear to endorse or accept same-sex

Good we need more, much more, resistance to the New Fascist Order
This should be interesting.
Way to go SBC and blessings to NAMB (No. American Missions Board!)
I believe the military will move to terminate these particular chaplains. Course, since there’s not a whole bunch of folks lined up at the door to become new chaplains....it might be noticed after a few months.
If you go down the list of expected issues from ten years ago....when folks noted all of the problems that would come....this was in the top ten. You’d basically have to remove the majority of chaplains, or find religions that only work toward total acceptance.
So, my question would be, are the MIL-Chaplains associated with a specific stse-side parish/congregation?
If yes, have those individual congregations communicated their desire to these men?
Just my Lutheran curiosity about the SBC goings-on.
Yup. Kudos for looking after our interests and it saves face for the chaplains that they’re just “following orders”. I’m kinda sure that those chaplains are holding their pukes when they have to conduct this marriage nonsense between 2 fags.
From Webster ...
"fas-cism ... a system of government characterized by rigid, one-party dictatorship, forcible suppression of opposition, ... belligerent nationalism, racism, ... & etc."
If the shoe fits, wear it.
Or remove chaplains from the military entirely, which may be the end game for the Godless Obammunists.
Scouts Out! Cavalry Ho!
Baptist ping
The shoe fits very well
Odd, we keep hearing from Baptist freepers that the SBC is NOT like the Catholic Church because it would NEVER tell invididual pastors what they can and cannot do in THEIR ministry, and instead uses a "bottom-up" approach where the local church has the greatest atonomy to do whatever they want, with progressively weaker levels of power at higher levels, and the national board being basically just a advisory board to "help out"
Maybe post 5 is more accurate than AP/ABC on this.
It looks like you have used your intelligence to reach the conclusion that the SBC runs pastors and churches like the Catholic denomination.
I’m trying to measure your credibility, so I will pay attention to the thread and see how your claim holds up.
Military Chaplains aren’t in an independent local church
They can do whatever they want in their ministry as long as it can be rectified in the Word.
And who is the arbitrator of that?
There is no arbitrator of who can be called a Baptist (look at the fakes like Westboro). The SBC can, though, pull it’s support for this Chaplain program
In the end the local congregation. The Bible is not that hard to understand and should not be interpreted by a “chosen” few. If you are sitting in any church and the priest/pastor misinterprets or purposely changes the meaning of the Word it is your duty to call him on it or leave that church.
If Caesar demands officiating at homosexual "unions" (I refuse to refer to them as "gay" as they are anything but gay), I, as a Baptist, will vote to remove our sanctioning and payments to Chaplains who follow Caesar in this abomination!
