Shocked? I sure am. I thought theyd just give him a quiet slap on the hand or ignore him altogether. I never expected hed receive real consequences for leftist tirade:
CAMPUS REFORM Michigan State administrators have suspended Prof. William Penn for the remainder of the semester, after he was caught on video going on an anti-Republican tirade on the very first day of his literature class.
In an email to students Thursday morning, Dean Karen Wurst of the College of Arts & Letters, cited his inappropriate, disrespectful and offensive comments.
On Aug. 29, during your Literatures, Cultures, Identities course, Professor William Penn made comments he has acknowledged were inappropriate, disrespectful and offensive and may have negatively affected the learning environment, she wrote. Once MSU was made aware of the situation the Office of the Provost immediately began a review.
As a result, Penns duties have been reassigned, and he will not be teaching this semester, she added. A new instructor is being assigned to your course.
Kudos to Michigan State University for protecting the classroom from political intimidation.
this means he is on vay cay He will continue to be paid. He needs to be fired.
Agree. Kudos to the administration for at least beginning to admit that they’ve got some extremely dumb sh**s on their staff.
The professor should be sent to one of those “tolerance” classes at Diversity University.
Still getting paid?
Hmmm. . .I wonder. . .
The “professor” should have paid attention to what happened to Ward Churchill.
Not enough ‘hate’ mail from the alumnus $$$ supporters.
Kudos from this IU Hoosier as well.
I thought anti-Conservative tirades were a basic requirement for promotion.
He’ll probably be offered a job in the Obama administration.
Suspended just until the heat is off everyone ...(wink wink)
Professor William Penn believes in free expression and free speech.
Please write him and tell him what you think:
The Board of Regents at MSU is elected (on the ballot every 4 years, along with the Governor). No doubt why this happened. A typical public university where the ivory tower managers are insulated would never have done this.
Probably too much firewater for Penn, and he may lose his scalp for this, if I hear the tom toms and read the smoke signals correctly.
Could this be the beginning of a trend...to have a two way discussion once again in American colleges? Whatever, good on Michigan State!
You gotta love those I-phones that can document all these egregious performances of our “public” officials.
He will probably get a huge job offer from Valerie Jarrett.
You mean, like the Fort Hood killer?
Yup, Major Hasan was on Obama’s 2008 transition team.
