The “no’s” keep piling up on Syria resolution in the House
Washington Post ^ | September 5 | Aaron Blake and Sean Sullivan

Congress took the first formal step toward approving military action in Syria on Wednesday, with the Senate Foreign Relations Committee’s 10-7 vote to send its resolution to the full chamber.

But whether or not the resolution winds up passing in the Senate, the real hurdle remains in the GOP-controlled House. And things on that front are looking progressively dimmer for the Obama administration.

Tuesday if I recall correctly. I think it’s pretty much over in the senate. The House keeps looking worse and worse for Obama though.

Over on think progress the count in the House is Yes 49, No 200.

If that’s accurate only 18 more No votes needed in the House to kill it!

There is no clear plan being presented, and of course that is par for the course with rudderless Obama. I imagine the D party hawks are going to start squawking about this pretty loud in the coming days and weeks. FTR I believe Obama and his anti-Western anti-White beliefs are true and he sees this as nothing more than cheap gas for Europe, so he is dragging his feet till this fails.

Actually 217 would be a majority because 2 House seats are vacant.

I can already predict 2 undecided votes firmly. Joe Wilson and Trent Franks will vote NO.

Let’s kill this thing.

Maybe Obama will send out Bill Clinton to pitch for “YES” votes. He already send Clinton out to hype ObamaCare yesterday but nobody but nobody noticed.

This was a first for me. My rep, David Joyce, R-OH, sent me this email, asking me for a quick response to an emailed poll about my stance on Syria. He’s taking the initiative to collect his constituents’ opinions before the vote. My immediate reaction was to wonder why, in this digital age, I’ve never before been contacted by a politician with a poll like this before.

“September 04, 2013
Friends:

I’m currently in the process of carefully and thoughtfully weighing the decision before Congress on Syria. I plan on being thoroughly briefed and will examine every piece of information as it becomes available. I believe any military action in Syria must require a clear mission and goal as well as serve the best interests of the United States. In my opinion, the Administration has not yet met those standards.

But I want to hear from you. Please take the survey below and share your thoughts on what the U.S. should or should not do in regards to Syria. I take this decision very seriously and your input is essential.

Do you support the Obama Administration’s resolution before Congress authorizing military action in Syria?
Yes, I support military action in Syria.
No, I do not support military action in Syria.
Undecided.
Other.”

Failure in the House will allow Barry to blame those EEEEEEVIL Republicans. Which is all he really wants out of this little exercise.

Good, let him paint the GOP as the party of Reaganesque restraint.

“Failure in the House will allow Barry to blame those EEEEEEVIL Republicans. “

Well, that may be his intent. But unfortunately for him, he has gone on the world stage and announced that he does not need Congressional approval to attack Syria.

Marcia Fudge of the gerrymandered Cleveland-Akron black district is all about that. Only, to connect the minority districts, they included some of Kucinich's old district. She's hearing it.

I called yesterday when it was revealed Saudi Arabia was paying. Does she want to have blood on her hands, the blood of one of those fine young men and women from Cleveland's east side who joined the military to serve their country and get ahead? Why would she vote to make the military path to success another death trap they can't escape?

FWIW, she hasn't decided yet. This tells me the Obama cheerleaders, even the ones who don't fear a 'pub, might fear a primary challenge. I think we can get to the conscience of some of them who just might put their constituents (and the threat of a primary challenge) ahead of Obama's ego.

BINGO...
And I’ve been saying that since it was announced. Kerry even tried to blame those “Obstructionist Russian in the U.N.” as why Obama’s Amerika had to bomb Syria ALONE.

Good point. He said he doesn’t need Congress anyway. Obama always allows his arrogance to box him in.

Maybe, however, consider Libya where Obama supported UK, French and Italian oil interests.
