Rockets in Syrian Attack Carried Large Payload of Gas, Experts Say
NYT ^ | 4 Sep 13 | WILLIAM J. BROAD

A new study of images apparently from the Syrian attack last month concludes that the rockets delivering toxic sarin gas to neighborhoods around Damascus held up to 50 times more nerve agent than previously estimated, a conclusion that could solve the mystery of why there were so many more victims than in previous chemical attacks.

The study, by leading weapons experts, also strongly suggests that the mass of toxic material could have come only from a large stockpile. American, British and French officials have charged that only the Syrian government and not the rebels was in position to make such large quantities of deadly toxins.

OK, the rockets may have contained too much gas, the REAL QUESTION still remains unanswered, “WHO FIRED THE GAS FILLED ROCKETS”? I certainly have my doubts as do thousands of others. Was it the Syria gubmint or was it the rebels themselves? Assad claims they DID NOT use the weapons. The rebels claim they, themselves fired the rockets not knowing how to properly operate them. Who are you going to believe? I’m leading towards the rebels claim which certainly goes against odumbo’s need to get the U.S. involved. The civil unrest in Syria is NOT our’s to resolve so we need to stay out of it.

The propane tanks are well known. They have been in use for a long time. They are filled with explosives as an improvised launchable bomb.

Rocket debris is common in battle zones. Where’s the proof they carried chemical payloads. My BS detector is going off.

I understand your points. It’s because Obama and Kerry are such poor leaders that we have this problem and can be challenged.

When a nuclear war unfolds from this, and we are nuked back into the stone age, I will smile (briefly, before my own demise) because I will know New York City will be one of the primary targets, and the New York Times staff will suffer horribly in the attack.

Ahhhhhh... I will light a cigar and smoke it (quickly) and relish the fact that they will all die of horrific radiation poisoning or flash burns, covered in tons of rubble. Ahhhhhhh.... how wonderful! :)

Hell I’m guessing Syrian rebels who might have been doing the bidding of the nation of Qatar, the largest natural gas exporter in the world who probably paid them 3 billion to setup up Assad (who wouldnt let them run pipelines through his country) by releasing chemical weapons and blaming it on him. Now they probably want us to help unseat Assad for meaga big bucks and have made a deal with “our devil” to do the dirty work, i’m guessing he’s been promised an “ungodly” sum and is getting ready to spread the wealth by playing Let’s Make A Deal with various congress members.

Yeah doesnt the U.S. have a vast quantity of chemical weapons and wasn’t Chris Stevens killed in Benghazi after helping arm the Syrian rebels by running them “underground”? Why couldn’t part of that transaction included chemical weapons? Something about all of this really stinks folks. Too many coincidences. Its all starting to add up to something really, really bad and I think I understand why 0bummer has become incredibly wealthy while sitting on the throne. I don’t think we have a real clue about his real wealth. I imagine staggering wealth in accounts all over the world; probably Rothschild banks at that.

We can ask Assad's former Defense Minister.

"Defence Minister General Ali Habib, a prominent member of President Bashar al-Assad's Alawite sect, has defected and is now in Turkey"

It sure isn’t hard to tell that the propaganda machine is in full tilt.

Experts that are unnamed are the same as when they say they have info quoting unnamed sources. This stuff is most likely made up in the basement where the spin and propaganda machine operates. LOL

I noticed today, even on FOX, the machine is out to diss all that oppose the new Obama war. Mostly conservatives.

When I heard that guy on our local radio show who works in the natural gas industry say that the Saudis and the Qataris want to run that natural gas line across Syria and ace out Russia for the main supplier of natural gas to Europe, it all clicked in my head. It is about big money. It also explained the Kerry remark about the Saudi financing of this war. The politicians like McCain will make a fortune if our military does the dirty work.

Well, they’re passing themselves off as Conservatives, but that’s as far as it goes.

Your take is very plausible.

Here is a more detailed account of the strategic gas situation.

There is more than money in the balance, the root cause is the Iranian attempt at hegemony. Iranian control of the Gulf is at stake in Syria.

I am not one who thinks Putin wishes us well. But our own government also does not wish us well.

Have you noticed that our government does not even consider if the people that have to fight for their folly want this or not?

The Syrian “rebels” are as bad, or worse than Assad. I don’t want any of our soldiers mixed in that mess. Either side might brutally kill them.
