Regardless of what Barack Obama is saying he, and not the world or humanity, drew a red line in the sand regarding the use of chemical weapons in Syria. Now that either the Syrian government, or the al-Qaeda rebels we are about to support, used chemical weapons Barack Obama is seeking authorization from the Congress to conduct military operations in the war-torn country.
The president is assuring the Congress, and the American people, that this will be a limited strike and will include no boots on the ground in Syria, however when John Kerry was pressed on this he hedged his bets:
It would be preferable not to, not because there is any intention or any plan or any desire whatsoever to have boots on the ground, Kerry said.
But, in the event that Syria imploded, or in the event there was a threat of a chemical weapons cache falling into the hands of someone who should not have chemical weapons, then clearly in the interest of our allies to prevent those weapons of mass destruction falling into the hands of the worst elements, Kerry said later. I dont want to take that off the table an option that might or might not be available to the president of the United States
When pressed even further John Kerry stated that there will not be American boots on the ground with respect to the civil war. That statement does leave the issue open-ended, doesnt it? While the United States will not put boots on the ground to interfere with the Syrian civil war it leaves the possibility open that we would actually put boots on the ground for some other issue related to Syria, but for what purpose would that be?

Knocking over the government is not the difficult part.
The difficult part is controlling who and what takes power afterward. To do that, you’re talking at least that number for most of a decade. There will be a guerrilla war in the aftermath, there will be an attempt by Al Qaeda, regime die-hards, and Iranian proxies to take power which will have to be fought off. This, done right, is a serious undertaking.
Done the way Obama, the Turks, and the Saudis want to do it, though, not so tough. Topple Assad and Muslim Brotherhood take over. They’ll know how to deal with their rivals. No problem.
75,000 boots on the ground = 37,500 soldiers, correct?
Because we have many more poor people than the Saudi's do. Poor people are easier to send off to die because they are generally less educated and hence, worth far less. As long as not too many LIV soldiers get killed - hey, it's all good /s
FIrst you have to find them, then you have to hit them. Only one sure way - boots on the ground.
Boots on the ground
Boots on the ground
We’re looking like fools
With our boots on the ground
I had the most amazing dreams of Ann Margaret - when I was about 15 . .
Put it this way:
In 100 years, will Syria still be a hellhole in the Middle East run by crazies? Yes.
In 100 years, will the US still be an Empire? Didn’t think so.
And now a word from the sober guy.
Boots? There are Americans in those boots... it’s a sick term...
Factor in the “tooth to tail” ratio of 3:1, or three homo remfs for every line troop, and everything that goes towards supporting all of them, and the next thing you know, we achieve the impossible, or find ourselves in even worse shape than we are now, as hard as that may be to believe.
Obama’s only got a couple more years to completely trash the USA.
We will put troops on the ground in Syria. They will be wearing blue helmets.
That is why Sarah Palin is my Role Model!
I’ll say one thing. I would never agree to work for the state department in Syria after we “liberate” it. They should remember Libya.
Unless he intends to wipe out all the nuke, chemical, military, navy it will be a waste of our men and women to death and maiming.
“I summon my blue-eyed slaves anytime it pleases me. I command the Americans to send me their bravest soldiers to die for me. Anytime I clap my hands a stupid genie called the American ambassador appears to do my bidding. When the Americans die in my service their bodies are frozen in metal boxes by the US Embassy and American airplanes carry them away, as if they never existed. Truly, America is my favorite slave.” (King Fahd Bin Abdul- Aziz, 1993, in Jeddah.)
