Former Boehner Aides, GOP Sources: House Speaker Will Step Down After 2014 Elections
This says something about an expectation of winning his seat. He expects to keep it. What does he do after he wins it? Step down?
It also says he expects to keep the House in republican hands. And along with keeping his seat, he expects to step down?
In short, he wants to hand pick the successor. Cantor?
You mean he is pickled enough?
By then he'll have bailed bambis a$$ out of the fire so much that he knows his will be handed to him on a silver platter.
Coward.
Now he will do pretty much what ever Obama wants.
Boehner should DEMAND that 0bama stop IMMEDIATELY the politicization of the IRS or impeachment hearings commence immediately. So much for 0bama's promise that the illegal targeting by the IRS be resolved in 30 days. It's STILL happening.
Happy Happy ping
He should give up his seat before the election so Ohio can replace him with a conservative.
Can't say that it will be a big change.
Can he step down now..come on Johnny,do us all a favor
Bad news. This means the chances of amnesty being shoved down our throats just DOUBLED. Boner is headed for a cushy lobbying career and cannot be spooked by us.
.... So typical of the GOP ..... wait until the final nail is pounded into the coffin to take action. Do the country a favor Mr. Boner ..... step down now!
Probably because he is expecting Pelosi to be Speaker.
Kind of like Denny Hastart in that respect, trying to keep one step ahead of the sheriff.
This lowlife piece of subhuman offal pond scum excrement amoeba brained crier and whining drunken drug addled hunk of steaming burning dead undead traitorous piece if rotting flesh should step down RIGHT NOW.
I do not accept 2014 as being adequate.

I always like Boehner as a congress person, but he has proven to be just an awful Speaker of the House. He did nothing to move the ball forward. He gets credit for holding the line in a few tough negotiations, but we took on far too much political damage for too little gain. The DC consultants and House leadership played out of fear from 2011 through the 2012 elections because they were afraid of taking the flack the 1996 GOP took in the leadup to Clinton’s reelection. They really believed their strategy would unseat Obama. They passed sybolic bills and made no effort to communicate to the voters that it is the Senate slowing things down.
Well, the Obama campaign played all their cards knowing our side was weak, and rode it back for another term. We had all the momentum in 2010 and early 2011, and instead got painted as nothing but obstructionists. It was a lie. We passed plenty of bills, but Harry Reid sat on everything while the White House attacked the House. Can we please get Speaker that can articulate a message?
