Things *are* getting serious enough when unidentified missiles (carrying what warheads?) are being launched without warning from ships in the sea.
The international protocol for times of peace requires a warning, at least to be sure that no civilian ship gets hit by debris. There was no warning this time around; the launch was unscheduled. When you detect a launch, the first thing to determine is where it is going, and then what could it be delivering. You want to have all the command staff at their positions at such time. Besides, Austria isn't going anywhere. (Let's hope so.)
I wonder if the media would report a nuke going off somewhere in America. Only those within sight of the mushroom cloud would know about it.
