The District of Columbia’s non-voting delegate to Congress says that because of her uncertainty about striking Syria, the only reason she would see herself voting to authorize military action would be out of “loyalty” to a fellow Democrat in President Obama.
Speaking with Bill Press this morning, Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton (D-DC) explained her belief that a response to Syria’s use of chemical weapons is necessary; however, she is unsure whether that needs to be done militarily. “I can’t believe that the only way to address it is a slight bombing which will somehow punish somebody or deter somebody,” she said.
Asked whether the president would be justified in taking action even after Congress potentially votes down his proposals, Norton said: “No, oh boy, no. I think it’ll be like the red line trap. He said if the red line you cross it. I think once you say, ‘I’m going to Congress,’ you can’t say, ‘Okay, I’m going to do it anyway.’”
As D.C.’s delegate to Congress, Holmes is unable to actually cast a vote in the debate, but she told Press: “If [Obama] gets saved at all, I think it’ll be because, it’ll be because of loyalty of Democrats. They just don’t want to see him shamed and humiliated on the national stage.”
She elaborated: “At the moment, that’s the only reason I would vote for it if I could vote on it.”

Read carefully what she said. I’m not sure she approves of going to war to save Obama from being embarrassed.
Or the blood of American troops. I consider myself pretty cynical about the whole political lot of them, and I am still just astonished that this woman could be this stupid and tonedeaf to say such a thing. I guess I won’t be so astonished when the rat party-the “anti-war” party-votes the same way for the same reason. Vote to shed the blood of American troops to score political points, and only with their own party constituents at that. I have never heard anything so blatantly, openly cynical in my life.
Next comes loyalty to their various personal agendas and causes: greed, racism, homosexiualism, anti-gun campaigns, anti Christian, more government handouts, open borders, amnesty for illegals, etc.
For some patriotism may appear far down their list of priorities.
But for most the best interests of the nation never enter into consideration.
It seems like there are always so many public polls quoted on such matters, but I haven’t seen or heard of many being touted by the MSM. I wonder why??

The “resistance” in Syria has devolved into an insurgency dominated by by foreign, non Syrian Al Qaeda fighters - literally the same guys we have been fighting in Iraq and who we recently drove out of Iraq and back into the Syrian safe havens they had been using as a staging ground for their war against America in Iraq.
Assad's game of supporting the Iraq insurgency and letting Al-Qaeda into syria and use Syria as a staging ground for is coming back to bite him in the ass.
Assad deserves what he is getting, but we do not need to hand Syria over to the guys we have been fighting in Iraq as consolation prize for killing Americans and terrorizing , torturing and murdering Iraqi civilians.
How about degrading both the Assad regime AND the insurgents.
Heck, especially the insurgents. Not much of chance of that as Obama and a lot of our Congress men seem to be taking sides with Al Qaeda
But Holmes Norton and other Democrats supporting Obama will get the Obama admin perks (e.g. funding for favorite projects).
