Serbia to get MiG-35 below the price
Sergey Korotkov, Director General of the Russian MiG, said that Russia is ready to sell its latest MiG-35 at the same price at which it will cost the Russian air force.
Korotkov said that these planes would virtually be sold below the price.
Yes, both for Russia and Serbia, said Korotkov, adding that those planes would not be from the Mig-29M/M2 series commissioned by Syria, but it would be a completely new aircraft whose delivery could be expected from 18 to 24 months after signing the contract.
This is about technology, so we say to everyone two years. But for Serbia, would will do our best to make the deadline shorter, said Korotkov.
He did not give specific numbers, how much Mig-35 will cost Serbia, because the price depends on the selected equipment. In his words, there is no substantial difference in avionics, equipment and capabilities between aircraft Mig-29M/M2 and Mig-35. He also noted that MiG, since the end of Air Show MAKS 2013, will stop using the label Mig-29M/M2″ and all such planes will be called Mig-35″.
Weve got everything you want from the equipment as standard and everything is integrated in the Mig-35. All air-to-air missiles produced by Russia we can integrate on Mig-35 for Serbia. Even Western-made rockets if you want it, because Mig-35 has a completely open architecture for existing and any new missiles, he said.
Korotkov also said that Serbia, with its Technical Institute Moma Stanojlović in Batajnica near Belgrade, could become a regional center for the overhaul and servicing of MiG-29 for some Arab countries, such as Algeria.
Why bring them to Russia, when it can be done in Serbia, and we would take responsibility for transport of these planes to Batajnica. We would propose Cuba to refurbish their MiG-29 in Serbia. It is not enough to buy a modern plane, it should also be regularly maintained, he said.
Army of Serbia earlier expressed interest in the purchase of six MiG-29M2 (MiG-35).
Labor Day Sale: Nothing down, Zero % financing for 20 years, and a $1,000,000 trade-in allowance for ANYTHING that the Serbs can fly in ( and manage to land) at the MiG factory.. (fixed wing only
Are they Syrian pilots up to snuff to fly the ‘35 to its designed performance?
You know, a Korean friend of mine drives a Mercedes; well, she points it, kinda.....

LOL. Maybe the air force should buy some until the F-35 is ready for service. They also should sign a upgrade plan for the MIG if the F-35 programm will need some more time :-)
So does this mean that Russia is in Serbia in a way they couldn’t get when it was Yugoslavia?
I wonder if MiG choosing the “35” designation was on purpose...

We have a lot of drivers of expensive cars like that here in Southern California, I like to say just because you can afford it doesn’t mean you can drive it.
Good...May they be used to return Kosovo to Serbia.
It's a different Russia now, they essentially locked NATO out of Eastern Europe with their Georgia campaign. It is unnecessary to rehash Kosovo, as there is little gain for them. The Serbs will have to take the lead and make the case.
Russia's current strategy in the area is to pressure Muslim terrorists (like Chechens), to move to Western Europe and America. A much better result than killing 'em there.
This is actually not unusual. Russians have traditionally supported the Serbs because they are Christians. Russians before Communism (and now after) are very dedicated Christians. And as far as I can tell from history have always supported the Christian side of any conflict too.
Obviously, the Russians are quickly gaining the ground they lost because they see Obumble’s next 3 years as a golden opportunity to advance. He is totally defenseless against Putin.
There’s no such thing as a “Christian” side, in the Russian worldview. At best, an Eastern-Orthodox Christianity vs. the other factions of Christianity.
The Russian Church has a history of curbing the spread of Protestantism, there.
At least the Mig-35 is actually able to launch any kind of weapon the russians have in their arsenal. The F-35 is actually able to fire -nothing-.
You never get anything for a lower price from the Russians. They’ll look for the starter switch and the Russians will hand them a hand crank.
Well I will take Christians of any flavor over Muslims any day of the week...
The F-35 only launched a dummy AIM-120. But the F-35 isn’t able to report target data to the missile. So the F-35 is able to launch a missile, but is still unable to fire a weapon :-)
