U.S. President Barack Obama had planned military strike against Syria apparently The surprising over from U.S. President Barack Obama of his plans Syria is apparently due to a massive mutiny in the U.S. Army.
The Washington Post reports that up to the ordinary soldiers could hardly see the benefit of one promoted by Obama military action of the four-star generals.
The Post reports that the soldiers especially lacking a clear strategy, because what would happen after the planned military strikes. Many U.S. soldiers have had bad experiences with the operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. First of them heroic goals were promised. But no sooner were the interventions in transition, the troops were sent into always new adventures. In both cases there was no exit strategy. The announcements to withdraw from the battle zones were contradictory and retreated to the length.
In the case of Syria, it is not Obama managed to convince the military sense of a military operation.
So far, the U.S. military has always publicly silent and obey the orders of the military-political leadership. The basis for most applications, it was the president managed to convince the soldiers believe that the particular use of "national security" serve. Blow off because of a massive mutiny in the U.S. military leadership. The soldiers could not see any strategy of the President - and expressed grave concerns against the action. Never before has a president so openly refused to follow the soldiers in America.

You have your answer. I don’t like it either, but there is a time and place.
So... Rather than generals resign and leaving the enlisted folks holding the bag, the generals need to refuse to issue illegal orders to the troops.
I agree, mass resignations are what should happen.
There is a good defense for doing so.
I assess the probability as virtually non-existent.
We are going to war to protect the tender ego of a Narcissist.
...he’s no different..if anything even more despicable...he’s like other “progressives”...they hate the military. This clown has dissipated our armed forces....the latest IRS probe of the American Legion..hitting them with regulations is just the beginning...as President WHERE DOES HE STAND AS FAR AS THE IRS....no media questioning, no comment, ..after all, he’s behind it
you do not understand leadership
if the military has lost confidence in the cinc, it’s over
this firing squad thing would only make it worse, dimwit
Head on direct confrontation sounds good to me.
I’d have to agree with that. Leaving the enlisted to twist in the wind is unacceptable.
I’ve said it for five years now, we’re dealing with the tender ego of a nine year old, both intellectually and emotionally.
Hatch Act
You are entitled to your opinions privately just no officially
Nothing new
I’m having to move around to that point of view as well.
and lest we forget, the military has a duty to disobey an illegal order
As the rank and file military resist orders to attack Syria will we be calling the Syrian fiasco, “The Hussein Mutiny”?
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
That’s what others have said. It still think it’s a tough call to ask generals to be the arbiters of Constitutional matters like this.
I’m not sure that was my best post on this subject, because I intimated that JCBreckenridge may have had a different view on something than I actually believe he does.
believe me Generals are highly educated and know the Constitutional limits
That probably sounded like a back handed slap, but it’s just my take that Congress and the SCOTUS if doing their job, would eliminate situations like this.
I don’t disagree that the generals know their Constitution as good as anyone, but why should they have to be the ones who stand up to this jerk?
The SCOTUS has been missing in action, when they weren’t making absolutely terrible decisions of late.
The old Aspirin attack won’t fly?
Too bad.
Think of something new Shmuck!
>> “This sounds like open insubordination.” <<
.
Bullshit!
The job of the joint chiefs is to advise. If they are too cawardly to advise, then congress should remove them.
All I see here is a future of more redeploy, redeploy, redeploy. We are grinding our troops down. This all better be worth it. I feel for those who have to go into harms way constantly. The WW III fuse is a short one, watch those sparks, make sure you know the facts before you go head long into something. We can’t keep on spilling our troops blood all over this planet.
