FURIOUS politicians have demanded Prime Minister David Cameron explain why chemical export licences were granted to firms last January.
BRITAIN allowed firms to sell chemicals to Syria capable of being used to make nerve gas. Export licences for potassium fluoride and sodium fluoride were granted 10 months after the bloody civil war in the Middle East began. Yesterday, politicians and anti-arms trade campaigners urged Prime Minister David Cameron to explain why the licences were granted. Dunfermline and West Fife Labour MP Thomas Docherty, who sits on the House of Commons Committees on Arms Export Controls, plans to lodge Parliamentary questions tomorrow. He said: At best it has been negligent and at worst reckless to export material that could have been used to create chemical weapons. Ps will be horrified and furious that the UK Government has been allowing the sale of these ingredients to Syria." The SNPs leader at Westminster, Angus Robertson MP, said: I will be raising this in Parliament as soon as possible to find out what examination the UK Government made of where these chemicals were going and what they were to be used for. Approving the sale of chemicals which can be converted into lethal weapons during a civil war is a very serious issue. We need to know who these chemicals were sold to, why they were sold, and whether the UK Government were aware that the chemicals could potentially be used for chemical weapns. The ongoing humanitarian crisis in Syria makes a full explanation around these shady deals even more important. The Government have refused to identify the licence holders or say whether the licences were issued to one or two companies.

“Smiths Grocery Store just sold me some Clorox and Ammonia, you want answers from them too?”
Yes, and how about that diesel and the ammonium nitrate fertilizer that the farmer purchase to grow food for us all! Still it would, however, be good to know what it’s stated use was supposed to be.
“Before they started foisting it off on us in toothpaste, sodium fluoride was a byproduct of metallurgy processes in the US, they had no real plan as to what to do with it.”
I seem to recall when the issue of “fluoridating our water” here in California was on the forefront, the then current use for sodium fluoride was for rat poison.
Yes, and we sold gas to Sadaam Hussein. That's how we knew he had it.
Well, that could be extended to just about everything we buy.
Would you please fill out this form as to why you're purchasing this ammo? Do you really need 1,000 rounds?
Yes, I hear what you're saying, but with the picture of Obama defiling the Resolute Desk and now this article, it smacks of a hit piece.
Thanks for reminding me, they did have that use for it before selling it to the water utilities.
I only drink grain alcohol and rainwater.`
perfect!
Is this punishment for not getting into bed with Obama? I don’t believe anyone in any government or government media anymore.
What was the legal cross purpose reason for getting those chemicals?
“Yes, I hear what you’re saying, but with the picture of Obama defiling the Resolute Desk and now this article, it smacks of a hit piece.”
Absolutely1 When this worthless POS is finally out of the White House, the new president is going to have to have that desk refinished and the whole place fumigated to get the stench of FUBO and his extended family out of the place.
Don’t tell Obama. He’ll feel compelled to send in the drones to get the Queen Mother.
Is Syria a big producer of toothpaste products?
Yes, I agree.
I can’t say here what I want to but you summed it up rather nicely, I’ll leave it at that.
This is kind of like foreign aid that can only be used for humanitarian purposes. Once the mney goes in the bank, you can spend it however you want, same for chemicals, buy for one purpose, use for another. Who knew they could do that?
oops
Muzlims brush their teeth???
"No ... you're not under arrest ... we just want to know what you plan to do with this stuff ... "
Jim Robinson,
Haha. You’re a funny guy. That’s the first time I’ve ever
seen a joke in any one of your posts!
All The Very Best,
lbryce
