John Kerry, the American secretary of state, has said that the United States now has evidence of sarin gas use in Syria and said "the case gets stronger by the day" for a military attack.
President Bashar al-Assad, he said, "has now joined the list of Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein" in deploying chemical weapons against his population.
A day after President Barack Obama stepped back from his threat to launch an attack, Mr Kerry said in a series of interviews on the Sunday news shows that the administration had learnt of the sarin use within the past 24 hours through samples of hair and blood. The samples were provided to Washington by activists in Damascus, independently of the UN investigation.
Mr Kerry also said he was confident that Congress will give Mr Obama its backing for an attack against Syria, but he also said the president has authority to act on his own if Congress doesn't give its approval. While Mr Kerry stopped short of saying Mr Obama was committed to such a course even if politicians refuse to authorise force, he did tell ABC's This Week that "we are not going to lose this vote."
Congress is scheduled to return from a summer break on Sept. 9.

Yeah, he's an ugly boss-tid no matter how you slice it.
Thousands of people have been killed by conventional weapons in Syria and that is ok. Kill 1,500 with gas and we say they crossed a line and now we need to respond....isn’t dead, dead?
*snicker*
Spot on, Jim as always! John Ketchup Boy Kerry’s fairy tale uses the same template of deception as the Benghazi lie Zer0 used to get reelected. This time it is to wag the dog for his Communist-in-chief, Zer0. The Ketchup Boy never fails to slick the skids with lies.
A strike on Syria should have been done months ago when we knew where chemical weapons were stored. Now they are in new locations leaving our intelligence ability to task. These same chemicals may have been Saddam Hussein’s that were flown out of Iraq to Syria before we launched Operation Iraqi Freedom. That was another timing failure.
There are even reports suggesting that the sarin gas came from NATO backed rebels to frame the Syrian government in order to build support for a NATO invasion. This is also being said by Russian premier Vladmir Putin who said on Saturday that it would be utter nonsense for Syrian President Bashar al-Assads regime to use chemical weapons in light of winning the countrys civil war. “That is why I am convinced that it [the alleged chemical attack)] is nothing more than a provocation by those who want to drag other countries into the Syrian conflict, and who want to win the support of powerful members of the international arena, especially the United States, Putin told journalists, according to Reuters. If that is true, we have an effort by the Obama Syndicate to deceive Congress and the American public. That would be an impeachable offense. Zer0s runs his administration on lies—not competence. His complete incompetence will be a disaster for America.
For a look into the rebel argument see this link (there are more, of course):

I agree with Sarah Palin. Let the Islamic dogs fight it out among themselves in Syria. The best action would be to stay out and save our money (and later American life) by not using our cruise missiles.

Putin knows that Zer0 is helping the bad guys who give Russia trouble. Zer0 is taking our eyes off the ball when it comes to Irans development of nuclear weapons. Fighting Iran in this indirect way will only give Iran more time and cause them to step up the time table to nukes. We need to keep our eye on the real ball: Irans development of nuclear warheads and the missiles to deliver them.
Also think Super-EMP nuclear warheads. North Korea has them and so can Iran. It simplifies the task of a delivery system. If one of them goes off on the East Coast, it would be total disaster.
That's not surprising. Sarin was originally intended to be a new, improved pesticide.
Even it was Assad, why should we act to help the Front for the Protection of the Syrian People? Unless we are prepared to undertake more of that Iraq-style nation-building, we should stay out and let them kill each other off.
John F Kerry, do you have proof of Who launched the gas???
My first reaction was another Al Queda workplace accident.
The Saudis did not tell the suicide bomber what was in the containers, and said containers were dropped, opened, or mis-handled
.....Assad was a reformer. Now hes the devil incarnate.
Which is why no World Leader trusts or believes the Rodeo Clown
>> he said, “has now joined the list of Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein”
Saddam Hussein from Iraq?
I heard some CIA guy wants Kerry to return his magic hat.
The CIA guy will not forgive Kerry for swiping his hat
Britain sold nerve gas chemicals to Syria 10 months after war began

First.....where are the documents which certify those findings? Which lab is the one which performed the tests. Which forensic pathologist is certifying this finding which will drive the USA to war?
Now....I have an even greater concern. My background is in General/Trauma surgery....not pathology. So up front I am not holding myself out as an expert. But we did take forensics in medical school. Nails and hair are commonly examined in cases of suspected poisonings. Most of those poisonings are of a chronic nature.....not an acute nature. That is to say, if someone is poisoned over a period of weeks or months with, say arsenic, this will show up in the hair and nails. If, however someone is poisoned acutely with cyanide the person will be dead in minutes or hours. No finding of toxicity will be found in the hair or nails. There is simply not enough time to incorporate for the toxic agent to be incorported into the hair follicle/shaft or nail or nail matrix and show up on a lab finding. If someone is poisoned with SARAN gas they are usually dead within minutes or hours (not all-depending on the dose received). But that is not what Kerry said. The cells of the nail matrix must take up and incorporate the toxin in the shaft of the hair. Now,....think how much does your hair grow in 2 hours. That is where the poison might show up, but that is very dubious.
I think Kerry lied to Chris Wallace this morning when he said there was laboratory findings of signatures of SARAN in the nails. The people were dead prior to it being able to 'grow in' the shaft of the hair or nail matrix.
I would like to hear from a forensic pathologist as to whether my explanation is reasonable.
I have no experience in medical work but learned in the service, that a nerve gas on a man’s skin, without inhalation, can quickly poison and kill him (if that’s of any assistance). Would it permeate hair and fingernails as with skin? I don’t know. Would it be present on hair and fingernails?
Typically, it is my understanding that nails are submitted as clippings or drillings and hair as clippings.. I do not think surface contamination is the source of toxin which is being tested for. If that was the case any body surface would suffice as a source for analysis.
From long experience, we know that this administration is prone to fabricating evidence. And, yes, out-and-out lying.
From the outset, we should operate on the premise that they are, in fact, lying. It is up to Kerry, Obama, Rice, et al to prove otherwise.
They simply aren't trustworthy. Sad...but true.
I was not a Chemical Officer, but I think you are correct. My training was that nerve agents killed quickly. One of the questions during our Nuclear Biological Chemical (NBC) training was, “If I was exposed to a nerve agent, would I have time to draw my pistol and blow my brains out?” Our Instructor said that it would be close. I suppose it would depend on the dose you receive. I think it would take a large dose of chemical agent to kill 1500 people. The agent weakens as it spreads. Killing people in a city could be somewhat difficult. A vapor would dissipate quickly. A liquid would have a hard time penetrating roofs and walls. There is also problems with the dispersal method. You can shoot it on artillery or missiles. You can spray it from an aircraft. I don’t recall ever being told to take hair or nail clippings after an attack. I believe we mostly swabbed stuff. There are Chemical Officers who know a lot more about this stuff, but I think you are correct. We were trained that chemical weapons were used to make it harder to fight because you had to put on the chemical gear. It was more of a nuisance than a killer to trained and properly equipped troops.
You are spot on! That damned weasel ran like a scared rabbit back to Uncle Ted. I still burn thinking about what he and his ilk did in Washington DC as a part of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War.
There is a special place in hell for people like Kerry, Fonda and their fellow travelers.
Thanks for the Greaseman link.
I knew I heard that somewhere but couldn’t recall where.
That was a long time ago - maybe back in the 1980’s.
Maybe on WWDC?
At the time he was making his traitorous speeches he said the medals he tossed were his.
But later on (maybe when he was running for president) he said the medals he threw were not his - just some he picked up to make his point.
You cannot believe a word he says - he lies so much that he really doesn't know what the truth is.
That is why he fits in so well woth Obama, Holder and the rest of that criminal administration.
M8 Detector paper will change color according to the type of chem weapon. M9 will detect the presence, but not indicate the type. Both types give a few false positives, which is actually a good thing for training purposes. Misting some trees or branches in an area with antifreeze is a good way of seeing if your soldiers are monitoring the M9 paper they have attached to their MOPP gear or their buddy's (as long as the environmental folks from the post don't find out about it.)
