WASHINGTON (AP) Officials in the Obama administration and on Capitol Hill say President Barack Obama intends to seek congressional approval for action against Syria.
Obama will speak on the developments in Syria from the Rose Garden on Saturday.
The officials insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to speak ahead of the president

So is speaker bonehead going to call congress back early?
This will help him to save face for not taking that double dog dare against that 11 year old on Facebook.
This way he can blame Congress for not letting him do it.
“The UN inquiry then is useless .”
Actually, if congress had it in them they would insist that the UN present it’s findings to the world.
Now you put the UN on th hook and once again Obama. Perfect play.
What a freaking farce!
bullshit
I think he could care less if the Russians put a few of our ships on the bottom. WW III would be just what he needs to finish of this Country.
Obama has found his out, and a way to save face.
It won’t be HIM that backed down, but Congress.
Congress will vote NOT to allow him to use force, then Obama can say “I tried! But those meany obstructionist REPUBLICANS would rather children be gassed to death!!”
And his sycophants in the US Media will gladly parrot this line over and over.
They can say what they like, but the fact is Obama’s foreign policy would have been exposed as a fraud.
This is the one time I wish the Republicans would vote present. State that they are against bombing Syria, but they dont want to tie the hands of the president, so they abstain. Let the Democrats give him the authority. Then see what he does.
He should ask for approval. If he doesn’t make a case for striking something that relates to US national security, then he should be denied congressional authorization.
"Watch for Boner and McLame to run to rescue Bozo."
Yep. When Obama wants to trample all over the Constitution and declare which laws he is going to enforce/not enforce... there is no vocal opposition from the GOP-e. When Obama needs a convenient scapegoat to go along with something that leaves him politically vulnerable... the GOP-e giddily volunteers.
If Congress goes along with this, and it inevitably turns into another disaster, the MSM will point out over and over again that this wasn't Obama's fault at all- this was a "bipartisan" decision...
Except Walter is much much more intelligent. If such a picture were made the caption should read, Pick the Dummy and the Idiot.
Even if Assad did it, why do we need to be involved? What makes chemical weapons intrinsically worse than say, dropping a Daisy Cutter on them? It’s a civil war. Bd guys killing bad guys.
We should do nothing.
Bubbye, Barry.
Don’t do anything until the UN comes back with their analysis.
I don’t trust the rats on the left. I want verifiable proof.
I don’t approve of bombing Syria; that being said, Screw the UN.
“Look at this idiot painfully trying to weasel out now that he finds himself standing alone.
Mr - Ill go it alone - tough guy”
sure, but it’s the best outcome, isn’t it? he looks like an idiot and we don’t get into another war.
i’ll take it.
i see. well, something slowed him up a bit
and that’s unusual for him
so i am unsure what it could have been
but thanks
