WASHINGTON (AP) — Officials in the Obama administration and on Capitol Hill say President Barack Obama intends to seek congressional approval for action against Syria.
Obama will speak on the developments in Syria from the Rose Garden on Saturday.
The officials insisted on anonymity because they were not authorized to speak ahead of the president

Look, I do not care if he passes the buck. A confrontation with Russia over Syria would be catastrophic for the US. It must not happen.

If we bomb Syria now it will be for all the wrong reasons and will be nothing more than a giant fireworks display. If the Joint Chiefs say we can go anytime and still get the same results then they are right. None.

1. If Congress says no, he walks away from those who wanted it.
2. If Congress says yes, he no longer to blame for the consequences - it something goes wrong.
I just emailed by Congressman and two Senators. They can count.
This is the one time I wish the Republicans would vote present. State that they are against bombing Syria, but they don’t want to tie the hands of the president, so they abstain. Let the Democrats give him the authority. Then see what he does.

Only reason he is doing this is to scapegoat Congress later if they give the green light for an attack.
It can never be Obama’s fault, unless it’s an outstanding success (which isn’t likely)
I would like to see someone put together a picture of Joe Biden on one side of him in the Rose Garden and Walter on the other side. They would look the same.
