I read he was a latent homo who never acted on his feelings. Which means he was not a homo.

Uhm...really? Does it matter who (someone who gave us some of the most beautiful music EVER!) preferred? (Ever since that whole Dixie Chicks scandal, I don’t care about the musicians, only their music. Their music is what I’m buying, not their biography...although in some cases, ya get both!)

I always heard that he was a homosexual, but then, who cares? His work was magnificent and he didn’t wear it on his sleeve or try to get publicity because of it.

Well, what does he want to do? Dig him up out of his grave and date him?

I commend the screenwriter for doing this. Someone like Tchaikovsky should be remembered for the beautiful things he did, not for the depravity people try to tag him with to validate their own disgusting lifestyles.

Because we all know the most important personal characteristic is how a person behaves in bed in private.

I'd be surprised if he weren't at least tempted. Alexandra Orlova wrote that he had a dalliance with a young nobleman, Alexandre Vladimirovich Stenbok-Fermor, was given a "trial of honor" and found guilty, and that this was what sent him into his final depression. How seriously we are to take this rather romantic story is questionable, but it's out there. He was certainly conflicted himself on the topic as his correspondence indicates.

He certainly had a lot of other things to be depressed about, including the early death of his mother and, IIRC, two failed marriages. In between was some absolutely luminous music. I prefer to remember the music.

I’m skeptical. You see a lot of ‘homonizing’ of historical figures nowadays to try and make it more acceptable.

People who are clearly not gay should publicly “come out” and drive the homosexual activists crazy.

The real question should be is Putin gay?
He’s always getting photographed half dressed.
Usually in photos insuring he looks manley instead of like a 12 year old little girl like obammy.

We studied his 6th Symphony - the "Pathetique." It was called the "Death of Romanticism."

The intense musical "sobbing" is almost unbearable and was attributed to his unhappiness with his homosexuality.

T's 6th was contrasted with Beethoven's Fifth as the "Birth of Romanticism" for its positive, triumphant musical conclusion.

Tchaikovsky was without a doubt one of the greatest composers - on par with Brahms and Verdi. Personally, while I find much of his music beautiful, there is a hysterical element to it that fairly screams “I’m a closet gay composer.” Even in those passages that are his most muscular there’s a flouncy feminine aspect that shines through. Beethoven, Brahms, Wagner...their music, even in the most tender of passages, seems to echo the voice of a men who like women.

Tchaikovsky was gay, and it does not go with current Putin’s national meme to have Tchaikovsky gay... Houston we have a problem.
