Striving to take action where Congress would not, the Obama administration announced new steps Thursday on gun control, curbing the import of military surplus weapons and proposing to close a little-known loophole that lets felons and others circumvent background checks by registering guns to corporations.
Four months after a gun control drive collapsed spectacularly in the Senate, President Barack Obama added two more executive actions to a list of 23 steps the White House determined Obama could take on his own to reduce gun violence. With the political world focused on Mideast tensions and looming fiscal battles, the move signaled Obama's intent to show he hasn't lost sight of a cause he took up after 20 first graders and six adults were gunned down last year in an elementary school in Newtown, Conn.

His wife is a fox ...
The Obamabastard is trying to effect through executive decree the essence of the UN Arms treaty.
This bastard needs to be impeached - NOW!!!
Most local gun dealers will have them...did have them for about $120. I'd love to have one.
But I have to clear that through the Secretary of the Exchequer. Ya know...the wife. She is of the opinion that I have enough already. Mebbe. Mebbe not.
I plowed through that article. Typical APObama talking points - it reads like Carville or Jarrett wrote it themselves.
I am not reading this the way you guys are. Odinga is not going after M-1 Garands. The article keeps using the 50-year issue; that’s the 1960’s, Vietnam era. And that includes the early M16/M-14 family of weapons, does it not?
I’m with Thane_Banquo on this one; Gun Confiscation by Imperial Edict is in our future.
Again he does NOTHING to “reduce gun violence”. He only makes it more expensive for collectors.
One of the alphabet agencies controls the importation paperwork. Basically all Obastard has to do is to tell the head of that agency to deny all importation requests.
"Felons and others" - that's what gun owners are to the AP. They don't even consider this formulation to be bias.
You have 90 days before it takes effect. I am mailing mine next week...
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
you may be right, but it sets a precedent that leads to more and more gun control, which we know they want (100%)
True. But 6-9 months now is common. Ive talked scads of people about it
Welcome to Germany 1934 or 1935.
Much ado about almost nothing...
I can remember from back in the 90’s when the “infamous” Traders Sporting Goods in San Leandro had them for around $69.90 before the anti’s got the ATF to pull their FFL.
Also a SKS with a detachable mag is banned in California. When the initial assault weapons registration started in Kali there was quite a bit of noncompliance. The AG at the time Dan Lundgren tried to be a “nice guy” and allowed owners who didn't register their SKS by March of 92 or bought one between 92’ and 97’ to have a amnesty and register without penalty.
But alas to bad so sad a Kali appellate court overturned the AG’s amnesty and the new AG Lockyer, remember him the fellow who “bought” his meth head wife Nadia a seat on the Alameda County board of Supe’s. At least this AG initially offered $230 or a visit and jail. After 1/1/2000 it was don't pass go don't collect $230, turn them in or go to jail. I wonder where California got the mailing list to send out the confiscation letters for SKS owners? Hmmm?
In other news, the gun charges were dropped against the felon from the NBPP.

It took over 8 months for mine, a couple of years ago. I did the trust thing too. They're just s l o w as molasses.
Thanks.
More smoke to bamboozle the low-information voter, and make him/her think something is being done about urban violence when Obama's administration is pretty much impotent because of it's own constraints.
M1 Garands and M1921 Thompsons are just not weapons being used by today's urban gangsters (who look like Obama's son. If he had a son.) I think it's yet another attempt to impinge upon out Constitutional rights, but from a practical standpoint, the effect should be almost nil. (Unless you are a collector. Then your stock of Garands is worth more than it was yesterday!)
