Tennessee hotel named filthiest in the U.S. by TripAdvisor loses defamation suit...

There was nothing dirty — or defamatory — about including a Tennessee hotel on an unflattering list on a travel website because it’s clear the inclusion was based on opinions, a federal appeals court ruled Wednesday.

The U.S. 6th Circuit Court of Appeals rejected a bid by the owner of the Grand Resort Hotel and Convention Center in Pigeon Forge, Tenn., to reinstate a defamation lawsuit against the site TripAdvisor.

Go ahead and call me prejudice .... if I walk into a motel lobby and it is manned by Indians or middle easterners I turn around a leave...same with a convenience store. Sorry but these people don’t put a high priority on cleanliness.

Same here. Spotless, friendly and great breakfasts.

In my business career I was a frequent traveler and now don’t miss the hotels, eating out, or riding on planes one bit.

In retirement we chose to buy a travel trailer, for a number of reasons including the declining state of hotels and restaurants in the USA. No worries about clean bathrooms, clean sheets or bedbugs. No worries about restaurant kitchen help spitting in the food (or worse). Plus the added bonus of enjoying the sites and sounds of nature far from urban squalor and crime.

Good idea. I am trying to remember whether in the past whether the Italians or Irish had lousy accommodations or restaurants or stores. I don't recall.

***If Indians own it I don’t go.

They seem to be taking over the motel industry.***

Forty years the Tulsa World paper had an article on how so many India Indians were moving into the Hotel business.

Some people felt it was horrible.

Others felt it was the American Dream to come to the US and open a business and not be on welfare.

I’ve slept at several. Some are great, some good, some are not so good.

None had bedbugs, but that was back then. I’ve slept in a worse Motel 6.

I’ll assume the Robertson Clan doesn’t stay in that Hotel.

We quit stopping at a certain convenience store on Hy 412 between Chouteau Oklahoma, and Tulsa for the same reason.

Filthy restrooms, leaking toilets, too hot grease in the cookers really stank up the store. It really went downhill after the India Indians bought it.

Must make a difference between American Indians and India Indians as Oklahoma has lots of Native Americans.

There’s a gas station a few miles from me. Run by either Indian or Pakistani’s.

I drive past several closer stations to use theirs.
Always friendly, well supplied. Ten fill-ups, free car wash. Valero gas.

Anthony Melchiorri was at an Indian-run B&B the other week. They had camera footage of the wife changing the bed - but leaving the bottom sheet on! She swore she’d changed the bed properly, but they had the footage.

They also had rotten hard boiled eggs out on a table, bad milk, and just a generally run down place - that had been Baltimore’s best B&B 10 years ago, before these folks took over.!

They were right near a concert hall that had been used to putting up artists there, but the promoters had to stop because the place had gotten so bad and was so filthy.

I don’t have an issue with people coming here and running a business, but leave your 3rd world standards at home.
