CAIRO, August 28 (Itar-Tass) - Evidence provided by eyewitnesses and people who suffered from a poisonous gas attack in the Eastern Ghouta region near Damascus obviously points to the fact that the neuro-paralytic gas sarin was used there by the paramilitaries of Syria’s irreconcilable opposition, Carla del Ponte, the former chief prosecutor of UN international criminal tribunals said in an interview with Swiss television Wednesday.
Her words were cited by Surya al-Aan news portal.

The circumstances of the attack in the Damascus suburbs make no military sense if one believes that the Ba’athist government carried it out, but for the Sunni insurgents to contrive a Sarajevo market type incident to prompt Western military intervention makes perfect sense. Cui bono? is always the first question to ask, but either no one in the White House or Number 10 has the wit to ask it, or the fools have been looking for an excuse to poke the hornets’ nest and won’t take no for an answer.
Careful. While the U.N. inspector DID say that, I believe it referenced the gas attacks in March and April and not the one that just happened. Need to be careful this isn’t being recycled.
And worse yet, he will never make a decision that is the opposite of what their goals are. Of course the rebels used chemical weapons - mainly because they know that odumbo will not accuse them of it - even if there were pictures. Anything to advance the muslim effort.

I think she is clearly referring to this attack.
The Government was WINNING, the Radical Muslims from outside Syria have turned public opinion largely against them, so why would they suddenly resort to gas, knowing the reaction it would bring?
On the other hand, the AQ types have no qualms at all killing civilians to advance the cause.
Now we don’t know which self serving liar to believe.
But Obama did get his lies in first so he should probably get extra points for promptness.
If the rebels were the ones who did it, this brings up a few TROUBLING questions:
1) Did they develop the Chemical weapons themselves, or were they GIVEN these WMD’s.
2) If the latter ( i.e., they were given ), WHO/WHERE was the source from?
3) If they can use it in Syria, what’s to stop them from giving it to terrorists who CAN and WILL use it in the West ( and here in the USA )?
