I expect this to escalate into a hot war on September 4, 2013 (Rosh ha Shanah) or just after. This would coincide with terrorist threats made against Israel timed to be carried out during Jewish holy days.

I don’t believe that Assad would do that. His army has to be weakened by the long civil war. Israel would make sure he was a dead man, as well.

This strategy has always resided at the back of my brain,one that is very real, makes very much sense.A leader like Assad under threat of losing it all and worse realizes there’s nothing to lose in taking enemies like Israel down with him in destructive nihilistic manner.

I believe this is just the beginning. Isaiah 17 and Ezekiel 38 & 39 must be fulfilled. This is not a time for anyone who fears God to be messing around. We should confess our sins, pray for Israel, and stay in God's Word.
