Oregon: Athiest Group Plants Improvised Explosive Device (IED) At War Memorial Cross
Gateway Pundit ^ | August 25, 2013 | Mara Zebest

An athiest group is believed to be behind an IED explosion at a war memorial cross in Coos Bay, Oregon. Coincidentally, the cross has been the recent target of lawsuits from the athiest group, “Freedom From Religion Foundation” (FFRF). If it is proven this group planted an IED, can we officially declare the FFRF group a terrorist organization? Luckily the explosion didn’t kill anyone and damage was minimal charring to the memorial.

Todd Starnes at FoxNews reports the following: Someone ignited an improvised explosive device next to a war memorial cross that a prominent atheist group wanted removed from a public park in Coos Bay, Ore., an attorney for the city told Fox News. An official statement on the city’s website called it an act of “criminal mischief” and stated that an ”unknown person(s) vandalized the memorial with an improvised explosive device.” “We unfortunately are now to the point where explosive devices are being placed next to crosses,” said Hiram Sasser, director of litigation at the Liberty Institute.....

Not much of a surprise, unfortunately.

For some, atheism is indeed a religion.

By definition, atheism is a religious belief.

Every time local, state, and federal governments side with atheists (removing crosses, plaques, nativity scenes, etc.) they are supporting one religious belief over another.

Setting off an explosion near the cross is obviously a way to get people fired up and goes against the interests of an organization that files lawsuits. My prediction is that if the responsible persons are found:

1. They won't be connected with the FFRF.
2. They will not even be atheists.

I don’t get these people, they put so much energy into something THEY DON’T BELIEVE IN. Why do they do that?

Because it's a well paying job, and they get all the attention, which is really what they are after.

They just don't want to be atheists, they want sympathy and support. If they have to blow something up to get attention, they will.

Absolutely their only target has always been to attack Anglo Christianity and discredit it.

Well.... you won't find them trying to burn down a Mosque. Tolerance and Diversity rule when it comes to Muslims.

So, they’re fighting against a God they don’t believe exists?...

I'm surprised they haven't yet introduced that the letter 't' should be stricken from the alphabet.

No matter how hard they try, they can't escape their conscience.

This story is just more evidence of the fact that Jesus Christ is real and is who He says He is! 1 Corinthians 1:18-19

then we know where 0 stands in regard to Christianity.

Based on some of the things he has said, and several things he has actually done or advocated doing, over the past 4-1/2 years I'm pretty sure I know where he really stands in re true BIBLICAL Christianity as opposed to the muddled, non-biblical, skin-deep version that is fast becoming popular with the younger set of Americans today. I have read or heard some people say that Christians shouldn't question the authenticity of another person's Christianity. However, I haven't found that prohibition anywhere in the bible and I have read it all the way through several times in recent years. Maybe I missed it somehow, if so someone please tell me where I can find it.

I find it very hard to believe that a born again Christian (there isn't any other kind) would approve and protect a spurious "right" that allows the legalized murder of more than 1,000,000 helpless unborn human beings each year in the US alone (50+ million since 1973). Nor can I believe that a bona fide Christian who believes the Bible is God's infallible Holy Word will claim that the practice of homosexual depravity is NOT condemned in that bible as sin. Anyone who claims that the actual PRACTICE of homosexual depravity isn't condemned in holy scripture apparently hasn't read the 1st chapter of Paul's letter to the Roman Christians. Nor has he/she read the account of God's destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah (sp?) because of the flagrant homosexual depravity of the men, and possibly the women as well, of those cities. There are more references to homosexual acts as sin, but those two are probably the most indicative of God's disapproval of that vile practice.

I don't know how or when God will punish our post-Christian era nation for allowing those crimes against both humanity and His law to be legally practiced. But there are many American Christians who say that He will have to apologize to the people of Sodom if He doesn't punish the US for that same sin. I don't wholly agree with that idea, because God doesn't HAVE TO do anything except to be true to His holy, perfect, sinless character. But OTOH I don't doubt for a NY minute that he will punish the US severely unless we as a nation return to living in accord with the Godly, biblical, moral principles that guided the predominately devout Christian founders and law makers of our nation 2+ centuries ago.

+ 1 to that. When I see young “hip” Christians going to church to see concerts and be a member of the “social club” but ignore the obvious like opening a door for a wheelchair bound person or failing to stop to help someone when they need help it makes my blood boil a little. On the other hand it really makes me feel good to feel a little hope for this next generation when I do see random acts of kindness they do. And then to top it off I realize what a mess I was and I know their just going down the same path...: )

This IED could have been planted by atheists or by someone trying to discredit atheists.

I can easily see some athiests going the route of the Earth Liberation Front, where bombs and arson are their way of protesting. But false flag operation is always possible.

you know, the one who mocks believers’ Deity as “skydaddy” or “your imaginary friend”.

The atheist's name for God that I hear and read most often is "Sky Fairy", which I assume is their not so subtle attempt to insult and anger Christians by inferring that the deity who atheists say doesn't exist is "gay", and therefore is just an imaginary "little g" god who practices homosexual acts that are repugnant to believing Christians.

I don't hate or even despise atheists, I have nothing but extreme pity for atheists who maintain that position until death when they kneel before the eternally existent Triune God. In that moment they will learn the truth about the Gospel of Jesus Christ that in natural life they had rejected as nothing more than a farcical fairy tale intended only to pacify gullible, uneducated, and/or simple minded people so that they could be manipulated into serving the wants and needs of the privileged and educated elite.

I don't want anyone to go to Hell for all eternity, the horror of that punishment is impossible to imagine. But there is no other way to avoid that unimaginably horrible punishment other than to accept the salvation that God graciously offers to anyone who repents of (turns from) his/her sins, believes that Jesus Christ is God's divine Son and 2nd person of the Trinity, and accepts Him as Savior and Lord. The term "Lord" means "master" in that transaction, and the one who accepts Jesus as Lord becomes His slave, purchased by the atoning death of God's divine Son Jesus on the cross. A much loved and willing slave to be sure, but a slave none the less.

Believe me, I know what you mean. It was only the prayers of my beloved parents and grandparents that rescued me from my prideful disbelief in God and a wasted life of sin and immorality. That's not to say that I am now anything more than a sinful human being who was, and forever will be, saved from eternal damnation by the atoning death of Jesus Christ on a Roman cross. All praise, honor, and glory to the Son of God who died in my place.

It has been my experience that a very high percentage of atheists are homosexuals. They don’t like being told their sex acts are wrong, so they react with anger and denial of God.
