How the West could smash Assad's arsenal: UK and US military chiefs drawing up a list of targets...
Daily Mail Online ^ | 25 August, 2013 | Ian Drury

UK and US military chiefs are drawing up a list of targets for precision-guided bombs and missiles to strike at the heart of Bashar Al-Assad’s regime. Defence correspondent Ian Drury looks at the options.

WHAT TARGETS WOULD THE COALITION HIT?
The favoured option among top brass is for limited Western action using ‘stand-off’ weapons from long distance to disrupt Assad’s ability to carry out chemical attacks and damage his military machine.

Intelligence on targets would come from pilotless drones patrolling the skies above Syria and special forces on the ground.

GWB’s major error was made on Sept 20, 2001 when he stated before congress and the world “..this is not a war against islam”. What he should have stated was “...this doesn’t have to be a war againt islam, that is for islam to decide...”, as it seems, they’ll clearly made their decison.

You need to THINK and Remember HISTORY

In the first GULF WAR IRAQ had relied upon SOVIET Russian Defense electronics which were OUTFOXED by stealth aircraft and Comman and Control Centers in bagdad were destroyed in “shock and awe”

What did Russia do in reponse ?

It withdrew, declared peace with the american led west and rebuilt its military offensively and defensively to be competitive in a stealth world...

American Arms became the best purchase by governments all over the world...

Russia needs to test its new technology and SYRIA is a good place to do so...

If russia wants to balance off the USA militarily, this is an opportunity with ROOKIE OBAMA as the Commander in Chief and as always obama is arrogant about demanding obedience from a smaller country...in world war two the russians allowed the NAZI to drive all the way to stalingrad and trapped them...

the russians have a historical inferiority complex because their monarchs were looked down upon by the rest of europe ...Obama has made clear he is coming, and he will put american technology on the battlefield...

ALLOWED the Germans to drive to Stalingrad? What alternate universe did you grow up in?

The article didn’t mention France or any other ally? Will it just be USA-UK or is there more? If Russia strikes back it will not be overt—a rocket from Syria or an “accident” at sea. Interesting—we shall know soon—I believe.

Stalin was about as brilliant at strategy as Hitler was.

Its comforting to realize that Field Marshall Soetoro and Generals Jarrett, Rice, and Powers are in charge, ready to go toe-to-toe with the Russians, Chinese, and Iranians.

Our citizens are the best in the world

Some of them are, some of them are not. Our government, however, is rotten to the core, and it views those outstanding citizens as the enemy. It's not "our" government anymore.

Uhhh, we won the Iraq war; Saddam is dead, the Ba’athists are out of power, Iraq is a democratic republic, the Iraqis defend their country and fight Islamic insurgents without using anymore of our “blood and treasure”.

Your comment is a disservice to our accomplishments and slanderous to those who served!

Sell weapons to the losing side. When they get the upper hand, sell weapons to the other side. Repeat until there is no one left to hold a weapon.

Last month the dufe (Obunga) was trying to make scandals go away by fomenting a race war, now it seems to be Syria...

Americans assume that since we ourselves would not be capable of gassing 3000 of our own people to achieve some military or political end, that the "muslim brotherhood" would not be capable of that. That, to me, is looking at something the wrong way.

Not sure what I am to think about.

I am advocating we don’t get directly involved. So are you I think.

Since when is Syria in out national interest?

It isn't in our interest, it's in the interest of Hussein's puppet masters and TPTB.

Good catch. Many names used in Sci-Fi stories originated in antiquity.

I wanted to recommend a documentary to you call "The Daniel Project". It's available on Netflix - not sure if it's on Amazon Prime as well.

Did you finish the book?
