Ted Cruz on CNN: We’re about to see a ‘grassroots tsunami’ hit Washington
The Washington Examiner ^ | 8/25/13 | Charlie Spiering

Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, faced CNN’s Candy Crowley on Sunday, defending his plan to defund Obamacare and what he would do to fix health care in America.

Cruz praised the power of grassroots activists, suggesting that a “grassroots tsunami” was about to hit Washington D.C.

“It’s going to take a tsunami and I’m going to do everything I can to encourage that tsunami,” Cruz asserted.

Watch the entire interview above in which Cruz discusses his birth certificate, 2016, Gov. Chris Christie, and the battle for Republicans to win a majority in the U.S. Senate in 2014

Great interview. He handled Crowley beautifully, not only with his answers but with the tone and inflection in his voice. Cruz’s great intellect and debate experience/skills are something many of these people have not seen in their lifetime. It is easy to see why they are so damn scared of him. Thanks for posting.

propose an alternative

Then you'll get a committee and a compromise. Since Boehner and his band of idiots are in charge, it'll be just as bad only with more profits for their corporate sponsors.

The alternative is to get the 'ell out of the insurance business. Get people back to work. Let private enterprise figure it out.

The truly needy already have Medicaid.

People complained to high heaven when gasoline got over 5 bucks a gallon.

Just think how upset they will be when they are having to pay over a thousand bucks or more per month.

“...Get people back to work...”

That is the issue.

Bingo.

You mean an alternative like “we can manage unconstitutional socialist schemes better than the Rats”?

Love this Texan but would have liked Cruz to stop down the interview every time Crowley conflated “healthcare” with “health insurance.” Uninsured people have access to healthcare if they want it and he should have drawn the distinction. It was a perfect opportunity.

Agreed.

"Propose an alternative."

NEVER!!! I propose SEARCH & DESTROY!!! Go Ted GO!!! Suck the life outta that bossturd by defunding it and defending all American CITIZEN/TAXPAYERS, now and in the future.

Enough of the "Mr. Nice Guy" Repellican crappola... ENOUGH!!! (No More Cringing & Flinching, either!!!)

When they keep passing this "stuff" in the dead of night and then shoving it in our faces in spite of polls showing it's not wanted by the people, then every Repellican and as many America loving Demonicrats had better gather the gall to do it ALL!!!

Is she made up to look that bad or does it just occur naturally? Geesh! What a toad!

I never watch CNN and it should come with a caution warning before coming on the screen.

Please, someone provide some eye bleach!

He outlined three things, 1. opening health insurance across state lines 2. expand health savings accounts 3. De-link insurance from employment and make it portable.

A good start, answered her question, then she shut up and tried to trip him on the next question.

I think you're wrong, there is an alternative, they're discussing it, but the most important thing is to stop this insanity.

Cruz and the GOP rightly have only free government, getting the government out of the way, reforms for healthcare: e.g., decoupling from employment, MSAs, and allowing purchase across state lines.

Cruz is awesome. A Cruz Palin or Palin Cruz ticket would be astronomical and other worldly.

Am surprised there have been no Cruz birther interlopers yet on this thread. Heck, I would vote for Cruz’s dad.

People like Cruz’s dad truly know what freedom and liberty means. Immigrants like Cruz’s dad are more worthy of holding the title of U.S. President than any of the czars and natural born Harvard geeks in this administration. Certainly more than the one currently occupying the WH.

Well do we both please support, a growth in American jobs?

I’m not trying to be anti-GOP here.

I’m also NOT AT ALL trying to be standard GOP lite.

I find myself however sometimes disagreeing with the strong GOP tendency to send jobs overseas.

We need to have jobs here, in America. We need to have the number of American jobs growing, and we need to stop buying so many imports.

That is where I find myself in disagreement strongly with many in the GOP.

We have sent too many jobs overseas.

Bring them back.

Oh, come on—have you turned into the likes of BOR at 8 PM of late? Or Chris Matthews?

I hate the Max Headroom-beauty queen-ification of the news.
