Tens of thousands of people gathered on the National Mall Saturday to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s 1963 March on Washington, listening as political and civil rights leaders reflected on the legacy of racial progress over the last half-century and urged Americans to press forward in pursuit of King's dream of equality.

1) The marchers eulogized Trayvon Martin, a wannabe murderer who was legitimately killed by George Zimmerman in the act of trying to murder Zimerman.
2) They advocated repeal of self defense laws that enable law abiding people to resist thugs like St. Tryavon of the Skittles (SBUH).
3) They advocated voting law changes that would make it even easier for them and theirs to steal elections.
Then there are some other things like: 1) the fact that CBS didn't seem to have any problem getting permission to to aerial coverage of the event, a thing that didn't happen for the great 9/12/09 Tea party Rally in DC where we had about 1,780,000 people; and 2) there were few, if any American flags present at this monstrosity, even though there was at least one defaced flag that had the Mahdi's picture in place of the field of stars.
BTW, do any DC FReepers have pictures of the condition the Lincoln Monument area after the march?? Might be very instructive.
It’s too bad these “tens of thousands” don’t put all the energy towards working or looking for a job.
The marchers are nothing more than advocates for criminals the only thing they do is whine and bitch about the white race and say nothing of problems they have put onto their self.
The race card is nothing more than a business and the leaders are getting rich of the idiots.
I didn’t watch it. Did they address black on black crimes or 70% unwed mothers or decline of the black family structure? Crickets.....
No resemblance to the one 50 years ago. None. Dr. Kings dream have been perverted by the likes of the “just-us” brothers who are in to make a bunch of money. That’s the only reason jj was hanging on to Dr. Kings coat tails way back. Now he and rev al use a formula to address and twist things. I believe it’s called the RHQ (race hustler quotient) to classify certain events so they can drum up more donations to the rainbow coalition and whatever al’s BS orginization is. The more than can inflame the situation the more they can fool the fools into ponying up more bucks. I did notice in the pictures there were plenty of white guilt libs there.
“Gimme gimme gimme....”
Should be ...”The more THEY can inflame....” Sleepy fingers.
One news source estimated the attendees at approximately 250,000. CBS with aerial coverage stated tens of thousands. In the next few days, we’ll probably read about Acorn-sponsored bus rides, meals and payment for the attendees. And they call the TEA Party members astroturf?
I was told by some black 8th grade girls one time that “MLK Day ain’t for US (blacks), it for white people”. I asked them to elaborate and really didn’t get much of an answer.
Don’t know your age but the girls probably only know that he was some famous black guy who was murdered by a white guy and they named some streets after the black guy. Ergo, the death of any black person at the hands of a white is ALWAYS racist and murder. ALWAYS. Black person causing the death of a white person is justifiable because of the way they’ve been treated as slaves.(?) Toss in the jj and rev al RHQ and viola, instant money. For jj and rev al.
p.s. Was the mall cleaned up yesterday post rally?
No White folks there!!! Or...just very few!!! Black racists and Hate America mantra ruled the day!!! No comparison to the King March of 1963!!! Dr. Martin Luther King crying in his grave!!! A truly, forgetful event!!! Yep...gone & forgotten!!!
This was probably 7 or 8 years ago, and they were students of mine.
Yup. Way to young to know about the real thing and sounds like properly indoctrinated in the race hustler belief system.
You think that’s bad, the other day I was reading an article by some lib group, I think it was on Huffington post, where they kept referring to the people “serving Obama”. Over and over they kept referring to it, “If things are to be done we must serve Obama..” I was like my God, this is exactly how totalitarian states form. They literally think the people are here to serve the POTUS not the other way around.
Did they post the recipe?
LOL! I wish!
