Have you ever seen this? A man was eating in a Mexican food family restaurant in South Central Texas when another nearby customer, his wife and 8-10 year old son got up to leave. As the man stood up, the customer noticed that the shirt had the title "Dome Time" with two stick figures beneath the title.
The "Dome Time" had white letters for "Do", orange for "me" and white for the last word "Time". The stick figure on the left was male, standing there holding the other figure's head, a female stick figure, as she knelt to perform fellatio on him. The customer mentioned to the waitress that the shirt was offensive and as she turned to look, her expression showed her disgust. The shirt-wearing guy glared back, obviously upset that he wasn't getting smiles and a thumbs up. As he left, he had a very ugly stare inviting conflict.
Several points come to mind:
1. What happens when this foolish man wears that shirt into a family-oriented location and encounters another man with daughters of age who doesn't like them exposed to such filth?
2. What happens when some other foolish person redesigns the shirt and labels the kneeling female figure with the title, "Your wife."
3. What kind of person is this 8-10 year old boy going to be when he grows up with a father figure like THAT?
4. What happens when he put his hands on someone who doesn't like his shirt after words are exchanged and he is shot dead over that vulgar shirt? The customer he was glaring at and with whom he was trying to escalate the situation into a conflict could have been armed.
It seems like almost every day something even more wicked happens than the day before. How long before we ARE Sodom and Gomorrah?
>How long before we ARE Sodom and Gomorrah?<
.
Are you sure we haven’t gone beyond those points?
When I read about Sodom and Gomorrah it shows me an incredible story of Gods patience with us. Completely undeserved too.
Sodom and Gomorrah ,,,wow.
Fiery Hailstones, it could happen.
Most people have very little to no class nowadays.
Sodom and Gomorrah, as was stated earlier.
>> It seems like almost every day something even more wicked happens than the day before. How long before we ARE Sodom and Gomorrah?
The context behind your screen name holds the answer to your (rhetorical) question.
Unless we as a nation repent.
Sodom and Gomorrah, full of libertarians and liberals, where conservatives are not welcome.
Oh, pahleeeease. If he had a car he could run him over. Hey, if he had a lighter, he could have torched the place. What's the matter with you? Any other "couldas" you can add to your foolish straw man argument?
There was a time when such a person would be run off and told never to come back and the town could back it up.
Big government has robbed local communities of the power to set standards for public behavior and appearance. Everyone is afraid to act for fear of a lawsuit or some other external power coming in and punishing them for simply enforcing standards.
I'm all for small government -- small in scope and small geographically, but not necessarily for weak government.
Since they were getting up to leave, it was a bit late to do anything about it but it is just the sort of vulgarity that has no place in a civilized community.
This country will be Sodomy and Gonorrhoea
Was the kid wearing this shirt?
Were you expecting a reply?
ROFL. Should be given to wife and son as gifts.
The problem with libertarians is some of them believe liberty is license to do whatever one wants. Libertarianism would only be possible (if it’s possible) in a society of self-regulating citizens. Some people just can’t get it through their thick heads that the public sphere is exactly that...public, and people necessarily have to give up some of their liberties in public in order to maintain a civil society.
Libertarians are pretty strong on private property rights. If a business doesn't want to serve people with offensive shirts (or anyone for any reason, for that matter), they have the absolute right to refuse.
But Libertarianism as currently conceived does have plenty of weaknesses. Libertarianism could work if people were allowed to form private towns. This would be perfectly consistent with private property rights of Libertariansism. Don't laugh. Disneyland/Disneyworld works like that.
Small towns USED to work like that, too, until the Federal government asserted itself. Now telling some kid to pull his pants up is a civil right violation.
Exactly. Years ago, back when America was a great and admirable country, the male patrons in that restaurant would have gotten together and physically kicked that piece of human filth out of the restaurant.
lol. I’ve thought of several scenarios. Can’t publish them here, though.
