Stray dogs are a common sight in Detroit. What about a big cat?
According to reports, many residents on the citys northeast side have seen what appears to be an exotic cat, perhaps as tall as four feet, roaming the streets.
Officials with the Michigan Humane Society said they have received several calls about the animal and workers are out in the city, trying to find the feline.
Antwaun Asberry, a 6-foot-5 Detroiter, told the Detroit Free Press the cats tail is longer than his arm.

I dont know what it is. I just want it gone, Asberry said. He walked like he aint scared of nothing

That looks like a lynx. You see a slight tuft of black hair at the end of the left ear and the eye markings and rail-like tracks along the spine of the reclining one are typical of the summer coat of a lynx.
WJR just had a gal on the phone from a cat rescue here who said the big cat seen in Warren has been identified as a domesticated Savanna cat. It had wandered away from its owners home about a month ago and they had been searching for it since.
People had been feeding it and some had even petted it since it was friendly and not wild.
The lady said that somebody had just shot it and the person who found it had thrown the body in a dumpster where she identified it.
The cat had actually wandered about three miles from its original home..........
Sounds like a cheetah..
In LA there are numerous cougars prowling..
