Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers, number 4 in House GOP Leadership, said the effort by conservatives to defund ObamaCare is "not realistic." She advocated a piece-meal approach to repeal, delay or defund individual provisions of the sweeping health care overhaul. The debate will likely dominate discussions within the Republican caucus when Congress returns next month.
To get the entire bill repealed, or defunded, is probably not realistic, McMorris Rodgers said. But I do think there are provisions in the law that we can get delayed, or provisions in the law we can get defunded.
The government's spending authority expires on September 30th. To avoid a government shutdown, Congress must pass a continuing resolution authorizing continued spending. Many conservatives, led by Sens. Mike Lee and Ted Cruz, want Republicans to strip spending for ObamaCare out of this continuing resolution.
Eighty House Republicans sent a letter to House Speaker Boehner on Thursday endorsing this plan. More moderate Republicans, however, are worried that such a move would garner a veto of the continuing resolution from Obama and lead to a government shutdown. Party leaders are concerned that they would be blamed for any shutdown.
GOP Leaders seem to be galvanizing around a plan to delay by a year the implementation of ObamaCare. The delays the administration has been forced to implement in the healthcare law have given us a golden opportunity to talk about fairness," Boehner said Thursday, according to The Hill. "If big business gets relief from the president's healthcare law, families and small businesses should, too. This message strikes a chord with Americans. When people hear it, it resonates.

He already did - he's been at it for five years now. Drop ANY hope he will do the right thing nor those who selected him to stay in. It's by design, they know what they are doing and they hope all we do is whine and complain. If this was 100 years ago - he would be flipped out so fast he'd cry.

I’ve seen it other places though. Back in the early ‘00’s.
Membership is 5years IIRC so he may have been a member in the past but is no longer a member now.
He certainly qualifies as the ‘loyal opposition’ though.
We NEED a third party
Bump!
That ship sailed November 6, 2012, My FRiend.
There’s absolutely no way ObamaCommieCare can work. It is destined to failure. The only question is how much of our economy will go down with it until they finally pull the plug. We’re hemorrhaging jobs already. The country is hopelessly in debt and the economy is tanking, but Obama’s still spending like there’s no tomorrow. And all the while doing everything he can to go over or around the congress to get his dictatorial way. If the congress doesn’t act very soon this country is going down the tubes. And apparently Obama’s fine with that. We’re on the brink of a constitutional crisis like we’ve haven’t seen since Lincoln’s day.
If your not ready for a revolutionary third party yet, you deserve Obamacare and homosexual public school teachers, IRS agents and boy scout leaders...
No law that can't be summarized on one page, which nobody read or understands, WHICH AFFECTS EVERY LIVING HUMAN IN THE COUNTRY, and which exempts ALL of the "lawmakers," "RULEMAKERS," and selected privileged groups is just not right!
IT'S JUST NOT RIGHT!
Exactly and the GOP-e is not on our side. Through them out!
I understand that. But the fact of the matter is that it is here. Next question is, what to do about it? It Comes down to two answers, accept it or reject it. Accept it, fine. Reject it, fight it anyway possible. It don’t mean shit, but my vote goes to reject it.

Who is the conservative running against this POS Polidiot Rodgers ?
I need to send her conservative opponent some fiscal support to put her back in the pasture.
Stay Safe !
Time for the Congress to take back control of the nation from the MSM. By saying that they would be "Blamed for government shutdown" What they are effecively saying is that the MSM controls national policy, not the Congress.
Does anyone on the Republican side in DC have more than two brain cells?
Obama is delaying parts of ObamaCare so Democrats won't be hurt by the implementation of ObamaCare in the 2014 elections.
It makes zero sense to have Republicans help Obama delay ObamaCare and spare Democrats the electoral pain from this horrible legislation.
By all means defund ObamaCare, but lacking that, make the Democrats own ObamaCare in all it's glory as it's rammed down America's throat.
These asshats broke their oaths the minute they crossed the border representing interests other than the people they were elected to represent.
YES WE CAN relate the discussion to another issue of concern, and that’s the minute the illegals crossed the border they broke the law.
The errant representatives should be impeached for non representation of their constituencies just as the illegals should be deported for crossing the border illegally.
Don’t hold back Jim. Tell us how you really feel.
As I’ve been saying for weeks now, owebamacare will go into effect on schedule. Not because the gop wing of the uniparty is cowardly so much, but because they WANT owebamacare to go into effect.
If you think about it from their perspective it makes some sense. First off, just think about all the owebamacare related graft. People will be clamoring for exemptions. An owebamacare exemption for your business will be a very nice thing to have. For a price, of course.
Then there’s all the personal data that will suddenly become available. Just think how convenient it will be to look up the medical records of your political opponents!
And then there is the propaganda value. If the gop actually defunded owebamacare, they wouldn’t have it as an ongoing issue to bring up in future elections. The gop corollary to never letting a crisis go to waste is to never let a crisis get away by being resolved.
As for the electoral implications, the gop wing of the uniparty has already done the math. Most gop seats in the house have been safely gerrymandered to the extent that they could run a broken dinner plate with an “R” after it and it would be elected. The gop wing of the uniparty has always been perfectly happy to cede leadership to the ‘rat faction, so long as they get their share of the spoils. This is no different. So a few gop members in marginal seats lose in 2014. So what? The vast majority will be back to ride the DC gravy train for the foreseeable future.
Sure. There’ll be some carefully staged theatrics and melodrama over the CR. But when all is said and done, the gop faction of the uniparty will crawl over broken glass to make sure that owebamacare comes into fruition.
UNLESS... we call God into our pictures again. Beginning with us. And this being a God not merely of “no” but also of “YES.”
