5 Corporations That Should Be Blacklisted By Conservatives
Townhall.com ^ | August 24, 2013 | John Hawkins

Contrary to what you hear from liberals, the biggest flaw conservatives have is being overly tolerant. Really? Seriously? We're "overly tolerant?"

Absolutely.

Conservatives will listen to a Hollywood star trash us as intolerant and then we'll go watch his movie anyway. Musicians will openly support Obama and call us racists; yet we'll still buy their albums. Corporations will bend over backwards to undermine everything we hold dear and then we'll turn right around and buy their products. Conservatives make up 40% of all Americans and if we start letting our values dictate where we spend our money, we can transform America's culture in a hurry. Our money spells the difference between a blockbuster and a flop, a hit single or a bust, and a corporate CEO ending up on the cover of Business Week or looking for a new job. You want to even the playing field in America? Then stop propping up corporations that want to destroy everything you hold dear. When a company does something you don't like, close your wallet until management gets the idea. When your money talks, corporations listen. Here are five easy ones to get you started.

1) Chrysler:
It's bad enough that Obama spent billions of dollars of your money to prop up the fat cats at Chrysler, but after the crooked deal was done, United Auto Workers ended up owning 55% of the company. In other words, every time you buy a car from Chrysler, your money is helping to prop up a liberal union that works non-stop to elect as many liberal Democrats as possible. Chrysler isn't a corporation with a liberal union attached; it's a liberal union with a corporation attached to it.

2) Progressive Insurance:
Peter Lewis is the Chairman of Progressive Insurance Companies and outside of George Soros, he may be the biggest liberal sugar daddy on the block. This former close friend of Ted Kennedy has poured tens of millions of dollars into the ACLU, America Coming Together, and MoveOn, among other liberal causes. So, why not get your auto insurance from a company that isn’t working to destroy the American way of life?

3) Capital One:
Having someone like Alec Baldwin as your spokesman just screams, "We don't want conservative customers." This is the same Alec Baldwin who has said, "Gingrich is a cranky history professor. Romney is better suited for country club president. Obama sees what govt’s priorities should be. Obama...2012" and "Until Limbaugh gets real, weans himself off the big salary and runs for office, he will always be nothing more than a poorly educated, marginally talented buffoon who has developed a real talent for manipulating the G-spot of the neocon consciousness and massaging the hate gland of so many economically displaced white voters in America." Why give money to a company that holds you in such contempt that it would hire a man like this as its spokesman?

4) Starbucks:
Do you really need overpriced coffee from a corporation that detests traditional marriage? Not only is Starbucks pro-gay marriage, but when a shareholder complained that boycotts over gay marriage were costing the company money, "Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz responded...by telling him that he could, ’sell your shares in Starbucks and buy shares in another company.’” If you're a Christian or just someone who believes in traditional marriage, the CEO of Starbucks is publicly saying he doesn't want your business. Can't you find your coffee somewhere else where you aren't forced to swallow Starbucks’ disdain for you along with your Java?

5) The AARP:
Despite the fact that its membership opposed Obamacare because it would destroy our healthcare system, the AARP supported that abomination because it is going to make a killing marketing insurance under the bill. It’s also doing more than any other organization to block entitlement reform, which is making it practically impossible to keep America from sliding into bankruptcy. On top of all that, AARP is a left-wing organization that has backed gun control and Planned Parenthood while fighting against a Balanced Budget Amendment. You might as well just give your money directly to the Democrat Party as to the AARP.

I completely agree. But I am unaware of anyone’s life ending via a lack of cable/dish/nascar/football.

I’m not og the seriously cheap variety. I just think the hypocrisy of people bitching about cultural collapse/the msm propaganda et all on the Right holds little water when they send 4 figures a year directly to the people who in large part, cause it.

My cable/dish experience ended around the time Dale Earndhart did. And not because I like NASCAR. I just realized I was helping liberals and stopped.

If someone can explain to me how it is that continuing to send a grand or two a year directly to people pushing gay everything and race wars is a conservative Idea that empowers America (to use a liberal buzzword mockingly), I am all ears.

Couldn't agree more. I simply point out products and services like internet access. If you want high speed internet access where I live, your choices are AT&T and Comcast. Both contribute heavily to what I'd call anti-Conservative causes which I disagree with.

My alternative to Comcast and AT&T is dial-up.

Ever try using FR with Dial-up? I did (back in 1998) and it was painful. Looking at any "content rich" website with graphics, etc.. via dialup is an exercise in futility.

So which do you choose --- AT&T or Comcast for high speed internet? (Satellite IS NOT an option at $100+ for sub DSL speed either.)

It's just an example of what I was talking about. Sometimes there are no alternatives. At that point, one chooses the "least evil" and most cost effective option for them and moves on.

Good though provoking post Norm. Happy Sunday to you.

You are right. If there truly is no other option then you are either going to have to go that route or do without.

The thing is, how many of us are really faced with no options across the range of our purchases? How many of us will buy that Jeep and get that cable /net package deal from Comcast when there ARE other options available...just because they ‘want’ to...then come here and elsewhere bitching up a storm that lesbians ate their Buick?

I’d guess a lot. Because for all the Harumph!’ing many are hyperpatriots until their own ox gets gored.

The core of my argument is that we can do a hell of a lot more than we do in our private lives. Stuck with Comcast?

Buy a Ford instead of a Chrysler/GM. Do SOMETHING regularly and significantly to deprive the left of cash. None of us are able to be perfect. But just on basic terms, wouldn’t we rather our cash fund either conservatives or even the neutral first? Even at some inconvenience to ourselves?

If most of us would, then we can make a difference.

Good Sunday to you as well!

Thanks, I have heard of this but I do not recall if they had a plan for business. But then, why wouldn’t they? I will look this up.

PS Never let anyone use the term “McCarthysim”. That is the communists term for anyone who sees right through them.

Yep, I found it. Goal #37 is infiltrate business or create your own. Notice how all these “green jobs” always involve public money.

Goal #39 take over psychiatric profession (1973 approval of homosexuality as normal),

Goal #40 breaking up family.

Have you noticed that many conservative talk radio stations feature adds from local businesses and businesses that are not sold at stores? It would be a good thing to patronize some of these businesses rather than going to the nationally advertised stuff.

Some liberals like to promote supporting local business, we can agree with them at least on this issue.

Everyone finds that document pretty eye opening on discovery.

Now Grasshopper, to further grow in knowledge (I am being serious here) get thee to Kindle/Amazon/whatever and purchase the “The 48 Laws of Power” by Robert Greene. You will never regret it.

Rubin went to work on Wall Street (eek!)—Hoffman became a drug dealer. Too overgrown bad boys.

The left is always boycotting something. They boycotted Arizona because of their enforcment of immigration laws, now they are talking about boycotting Florida because of Stand Your Ground. Over the years there have been too many such boycotts to remember. But the left has many, many politically leaning groups such as all of the unions. They will all march to the same drummer when they are called on. This gets them a lot more mileage than just hoping that enough individuals will take note of an offending company. We have to start doing things in groups.

How about churches? How about conservative schools, local or state governments? What about conservative business groups? Many conservatives already belong to civic organizations such as the Elks, Rotary Club, Veterans groups etc. Even though not everyone in the groups will agree, it is possible to start talks within these organizations and start forming like minded groups and then forming state and national groups. Using existing groups that you belong to can be a begining for recruiting like minded people within those groups. Then form new alliances outside of the group that you already belonged to that way you will not be involved in arguments. Those who want to join you can and those who do not don’t have to but it will be done outside of the established groups so that you do not have to get into battles with national organizations.

I have bought it 3 times, loaned it and never got it back. I cannot recommend it enough. Think of it as a much larger companion to The Prince by Machiavelli. Same territory but “WHY”. It’s all about why. And HOW.

Suddenly, the politics of the Dems, the GOP and the world will spring into crystal focus. It really is that good.

I see a pattern forming on loaned Greene books here... ;)

If every Freeper read 48 laws, we would rule the world.

It seems that the “little people” are always on the outside of the door with our ears to the door but we cannot hear what the “big people” are saying inside.

Another thing, it is starting to dawn on me that the age of democracy has not changed things that much. It seems that the leaders just have to be craftier and more subtle than in the days of someone like Henry VIII. Old Henry could say “Off with his head” any time he wanted to and no one could stop him. Democratic leaders have to cool it a bit. They have to get back at their enemies through the IRS or some such thing. :^)

Yes! I love the format in both books...the footnotes in the columns make it fun to read and saves so much effort of looking up historical references.

I got more out of Greene than Sun-tzu. [I know, I blaspheme]
