David Axelrod lashed out against Republican senator Tom Coburn for suggesting that President Obama is nearing a Constitutional crisis and potential impeachment, calling Coburn’s remarks “way out of bounds.”
“He speaks to a kind of virus that has infected our politics that really has to be curbed,” Axelrod said, mockingly referring to Coburn’s suggestion as “his considered legal opinion as an obstetrician.”

This subject scares them—they went through a rough patch with Clinton and his impeachment. They don’t want this to happen again as it will slow down the transformation they are making. Even a little hint of impeachment will get a rise out of the left.
