With embattled San Diego Mayor Bob Filners resignation on the horizon, some of the women leading the charge say they don't want Filner's resignation to come at the expense of San Diego taxpayers.
Filner has agreed to resign as part of a deal reached this week in mediation with city officials, NBC 7 News learned on Thursday.
The deal requires approval of the City Council in closed session Friday, which has some speculating the city may be asked to pay Filners defense fees in a sexual harassment lawsuit filed by his former employee, Irene McCormack Jackson.
Her attorney Gloria Allred said Thursday she and her clients which include Filner accusers Peggy Shannon, Michelle Tyler and Katherine Ragazzino want to see Filner resign without conditions.
Why? He did nothing wrong - correct?
I hate to admit it, but All-red is right. The taxpayers of San Diego should not pay one dime for Filner’s legal bills. Let him go bankrupt. Grabbing ass is not one of the mayor’s job duties. Why should the taxpayers be on the hook?
Well, thank you ladies,...it would be nice to have a link.
only a RAT could actually try to use that as a defense
Filner did not get the anti-grabass training other gov’t drones get. He was railroaded!!
Another word for "taxpayers" is "voters." A majority of them voted for this turkey, so why shouldn't they feel some pain? Maybe if stupid voting obviously affected the pocketbook more often, people would stop voting for dirtbags.
When will the city learn? The prior mayor was elected after his predecessor resigned. I can tell you it's the shift towards Democrat-style voter trends that's produced such 'winners'.
Think about this: Bob Filner was in Congress 20 years. TWENTY YEARS. It took until he became mayor for this to come out.
That right there is your "war on women." Twenty years the Democrat Party and the Progressive Caucus Filner founded looked past his anti-woman behavior.
Outrageous! Only a dem could pull this off.
He will probably be forced to retire to a villa in the Virgin Islands.
But, but, who pays for all of Allred’s fees??
Surely not her clients!
Where’s the link?
